Friends Absent Speak: June 2008
http://friendsabsentspeak.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html
Sir, more than kisses, letters mingle souls for thus, friends absent speak. -J. Donne. Thursday, June 26, 2008. My dear friend Anne visited DC last November when I was, unfortunately, in Jordan. The plus side for them: she and her (equally dear) husband Jasen got to use my apartment instead of getting a hotel. The plus side for me: a thoughtful gift of blue cornmeal from New Mexico. Wednesday, June 18, 2008. Everyone needs some Prada, if only in haiku format. Go to the superfabulous blog Daddy Likey.

Clover: February 2015
http://theworldaccordingtoclover.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Saturday, February 14, 2015. Happy Valentine's Day Daddy! Friday, February 13, 2015. Thursday, February 12, 2015. Birthday didn’t scare me. I was kind of looking forward to entering a new decade. I told myself all kinds of things that are mostly true. Stuff like, age is just a number…The older you get, the more comfortable you are in your own skin…40 is the new 30…. I’m here to tell you that was a bunch of crap. The second I turned 40, stuff started falling apart. I mean, MY. So here I am, just a few day...

Nothing Notable: March 2005
http://nothingnotable.blogspot.com/2005_03_01_archive.html
The Good Ol' Days. Kind of puts a damper on that road trip I've been planning. I planned to have something interesting to say about the visit, but besides self-righteous ranting (and who enjoys that kind of thing when they are not, in fact at a George Carlin or Dennis Leary show? There just isn't anything real notable. Hey, look at that, a reference to my blog title, how sneaky was that? Posted by Quinn at 12:34 PM. Now, what was I saying about everyone needing to grow the hell up? No lo comprendo pero m...

Nothing Notable: Things that don't make sense, but do
http://nothingnotable.blogspot.com/2008/05/things-that-dont-make-sense-but-do.html
Things that don't make sense, but do. 2) Spending maybe 20 minutes total on the Brazos River trying to figure out how to work a sit-on-top kayak, never falling in but still ending up soaked, and declaring it a successful kayak trip. 3) Seeing massage business dwindle for the summer and, instead of freaking out about the lack of income, celebrating all the days off to come. Feel free to come back and call me a fool when I write the Post Full of Panic, ETA: July. Posted by Quinn at 5:47 PM. View my complet...

Clover: November 2012
http://theworldaccordingtoclover.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
Tuesday, November 27, 2012. This time of year I feel so abandoned by the sun. Dramatic. I know. It’s true though. I take winter personally. I hate to be cold. Hate it. And I know that I’m destined to feel like this until about mid May. Maybe even June. Bummer. I am already planning my future as a snowbird. It might happen sooner than later, because Sweet Pea informed me tonight that she’s going to go to college in Hawaii. Smart girl. Why didn’t I think of that? Tuesday, November 13, 2012. I got REALLY ma...

Clover: Adding things faster than I can get them crossed off.
http://theworldaccordingtoclover.blogspot.com/p/as-it-turns-out-my-bucket-list-is.html
Adding things faster than I can get them crossed off. As it turns out my bucket list is mostly the places I want to go, and what I want to eat when I get there. I AM going to launch an etsy site. Soon. Let’s put a date on that. How about July 1, 2010. When my kids are older I would like to spend a vacation giving back. Mr. G has a second cousin who runs an orphanage in Mexico. Or maybe we could help build houses with Habitat for Humanity. Or do some environmental restoration. There is a place not far fro...

Clover: November 2013
http://theworldaccordingtoclover.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html
Thursday, November 21, 2013. I’m not in love with the GoldieBlox commercial that’s making the rounds on Facespace. (You can watch it here. In my overblown imagination, I’m pretty sure that admitting that, in print, on the internet is going to cause some sort of epic fallout akin to Mitt Romney’s notebooks full of women. Maybe I have to turn in my feminist card or something…but, uh. Yeah. This video makes me squirm. From 2012 that gives some depressing facts:. Only one in seven engineers is female. How co...
