I'm No Idiot: The Question In Center
http://imnoidiot.blogspot.com/2005/11/question-in-center.html
Friday, November 04, 2005. The Question In Center. Reports out of the. Meetings say that, considering the thin free agent market and the team's unwillingness to part with young players in the trade market, the Yankees might be looking at Bubba Crosby in center for 2006. While this news may result in frenzied panic calls to your local sports radio show, at least it shows that the Yankees top brass are considering a very important question: Do we. Actually need to add something in centerfield? With Cashman...

I'm No Idiot: Struggling to Plug the Holes: Bench

Saturday, November 26, 2005. Struggling to Plug the Holes: Bench. Although the holes in the Yankees bench will be put on the back burner until the more important issues in center and the bullpen are resolved, there are some pretty interesting options facing the Yankees bench in 2006. I'm No Idiot: Shave and a Haircut, $52 Million
http://imnoidiot.blogspot.com/2005/12/shave-and-haircut-52-million.html
Wednesday, December 21, 2005. Shave and a Haircut, $52 Million. Just when you (me) were really beginning to believe every word from Brian Cashman - the Yanks aren't looking for splashy moves - they go reel in the splashy move of splashy moves this winter. Bubba Crosby won't be patrolling centerfield this spring for the Yanks, no, it will be the very Steinbrenner-esque choice of Johnny Damon. I was pretty angered by the signing - a complete reversal in philosophy by Cashman - before reading this. I've see...

I'm No Idiot: Farnsworth Deal Stalls as Gordon Leaves NY
http://imnoidiot.blogspot.com/2005/12/farnsworth-deal-stalls-as-gordon.html
Friday, December 02, 2005. Farnsworth Deal Stalls as Gordon Leaves NY. Farnsworth Deal is Official - 3-years, $17 million * *. Like most things, there's probably a good amount of truth to both sides of the story. Turns out there wasn't much truth to either - the deal was done before the deadline, and Farnsworth didn't get any extra money * *. Posted by pseudoNYm @ 1:02 PM. I'm No Idiot: Contrary to Popular Belief...
http://imnoidiot.blogspot.com/2005/07/contrary-to-popular-belief.html
Friday, July 15, 2005. Contrary to Popular Belief. So Cashman has two options: (1) Plug Along, Stay Afloat, Ride the Wave, Struggle Through, Gut It Out. etc. Keep bringing in your Tim Reddings and Aaron Smalls and maybe make a small deal here or there for a Chacon or a Leiter and just wait for the reinforcements coming off the DL. Yankees get the Wild Card, lose in the ALCS to Boston, and head into next year struggling to re-sign Burnett and find that they can't acquire anyone in a trade because they hav...

I'm No Idiot: The Cashman Isn't Buying...
http://imnoidiot.blogspot.com/2005/12/cashman-isnt-buying.html
Friday, December 09, 2005. The Cashman Isn't Buying. If Cashman can sign another reliever to join Myers and Farnsworth (someone like Julian Tavarez or Roberto Hernandez) and make a deal for a centerfielder to split time with Bubba Crosby (Jason Michaels would be perfect - so perfect that he'd win the job outright by June), then turn his attention to the bench (Bernie will be back, along with maybe Nomar or Miguel Cairo? A post I made in mid-July:. So Cashman has two options: (1) Plug Along, Stay Afloat, ...

I'm No Idiot: August 2005
http://imnoidiot.blogspot.com/2005_08_01_archive.html
Saturday, August 27, 2005. A-Rod GW RBI Caps Five Run Ninth. Aaron Small came in to start the 6th, his first appearance since August 17. Small was booted from the rotation in favor of Wright and will now become the team's sole long reliever as Scott Proctor was optioned back to AAA to make room for Lawton. Small allowed two runs in 2 2/3 innings on 5 hits and a walk. Alan Embree finished the 8th and pitched a perfect 9th to get the win. Posted by pseudoNYm @ 8:00 PM. I'm No Idiot: Yanks Finally Get Active
http://imnoidiot.blogspot.com/2005/12/yanks-finally-get-active.html
Thursday, December 01, 2005. Yanks Finally Get Active. It seems as though the Yankees are also still trying to sign former setup man Tom Gordon, who is seeking a three-year deal. The Yanks will not budge on their two-year offer, and if the Farnsworth signing is true, signing Gordon will only be more difficult. Adding Farnsworth not only increases Gordon's market, but it makes it far less likely that Gordon (who wants to close) will return to the Yankees to share. Posted by pseudoNYm @ 12:54 PM.

I'm No Idiot: September 2005
http://imnoidiot.blogspot.com/2005_09_01_archive.html
Thursday, September 22, 2005. Yankees Sweep Their Way to One Game Lead. On Sunday, Oct. 2nd. Then came the 8th inning. Maybe not. Leiter started off the inning in usual Leiter style - walking slap-hitting-speedster Bernie Castro on 5 pitches and Melvin Mora on 6 pitches. He then battled with Tejada for 11 pitches before giving up an RBI single. An RBI double by lefty Jay Gibbons would end Leiter's night as he was booed off the field. A-Rod looked a little off tonight, and seems to be striking out a bit m...
