The Jones Family: February 2014
http://journalofjones.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html
Thursday, February 20, 2014. The sad news – Lake Powell was closed for our October trip (due to our government shut down). The good news – we ended up going to the beach! It was one of the best vacations with kids I’ve ever had. Truthfully – I really felt that we could relax and enjoy ourselves! Lake Powell is wonderful, but you have to be quite vigilant with the kids when you are around the water 100% of the time. Our trip to the beach was just what we needed! We’re finally here! Playing with dad. T...

http://journalofjones.blogspot.com/2014/09/family-pics.html
Tuesday, September 16, 2014. Kris’s cousin Emily did a fabulous job on our family pictures (taken Fall 2013.I'm only about a year behind! I really wanted to take pics close to home, so the brick wall is the side of the house 2 doors down, and the fence is in our backyard. We planned some of these pictures specifically to fit our family motto: Have Fun, Be Good, Together Forever. I love how Shelby’s finger is in Kris’ ear.). Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Tuesday, September 16, 2014. Once Kris got started updating Old Slanty, he didn’t stop. Soon not only did I have a dishwasher, but also…a washer and dryer! What a gem of a husband – making all my dreams come true! Here’s before – a nice little spot at the end of the pantry. Kris working hard – first step: tile. Plumbed and ready for a washer and dryer! Hugging my new washer and dryer…awwww, couldn’t be happier! Thanks to the best husband ever! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Javan and Heather Bowles.

PetersonFamily: January 2011

Sunday, January 2, 2011. Some of our kids went up to play in the snow on December 27. They had a good time but it's really an activity for the young people. Anyway Phil wanted to drive up to find some snow on his day off on Thursday. We drove up the same road the kids did but we went further up the Wind River Road than they did. Here I went. Mt. St. Helen's played peek-a-boo with the clouds. Thanks for breaking the trail for me, honey. It was knee-deep. Anyone for a picnic? Anyway we went to each house i...

Sunday, July 31, 2011. Alaska Extra - Totem Poles. I love Totem Poles. Hope you enjoy these pictures. Totem poles are carved to honor deceased ancestors, record history, social events, and oral tradition. Symbols of a family's clan usually appeared on them (top). Read from the top down. They were never worshipped as religious objects. This painting on the side of a building is cool because the animals depicted show their heads as they might be represented on a totem pole. Chief Joseph or Kayuk Totem Pole.

PetersonFamily: August 2011
http://petersonparents.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Sunday, August 7, 2011. We were finally able to get away for a little overnight camping/hiking trip. Our first this year. We decided to go up around the area we wanted to go over Labor Day and check out conditions. Good thing we did. This is the Indian Viewpoint and we've had several family shots taken here over the years. As we were having breakfast Phil was robbed of part of his pastry by this guy. I couldn't believe he could fly with such a big chunk. Brazen too - we were still standing there! Not a g...
