Allemans: 19 months
http://allemans.blogspot.com/2015/08/19-months.html
Friday, August 7, 2015. I totally meant to do an update post for Cora at 18 months.but I'm so behind on blogging, now she's already 19 months! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this age. She is alternately goofy and sweet and hilarious. She also has some serious moments of sass and gets easily offended when she is scolded. Wow - Cora's vocabulary has taken off! Thank you), found it! When she finds something she was looking for, hell-boo. She will gladly eat by the spoonful any time of day. Her skin is still pretty bad&...

Monday, July 28, 2014. We're going to the. Zoo, zoo, zoo! This is Jonah's "say cheese" face - apparently "cheese" has two O's in it :). We returned to the zoo this weekend for another visit. Since the forecast was calling for temps in the triple digits, we made sure to get there bright and early. It hit 80 degrees by 8:00 am, but we still enjoyed our morning wandering around North America and parts of Asia and Africa. The little-known three-headed giraffe. Of course, Cora made the trip, too! And Jonah di...

Monday, June 30, 2014. Favorite Recipes - Complete Slow-Cooker MEALS. No effort, and it would have still been a meal without the beans. Apple Pie Pork Chops. Pork chops, slow roasted with apples, potatoes and onions. Simple, but yummy! 4 pork chops, browned. 4 potatoes, cubed. 3 apples, cored and cubed. 1/2 onion, chopped. 2 T brown sugar, packed. Apple pie and pork chops sounds like a strange combination - but it totally works! A fiesta-lime chicken dish with corn, black beans and tomatoes. 1 tsp chili ...

Allemans: February 2015

Friday, February 20, 2015. Cora has a new nap-time routine lately. It goes a little something like this. Read a story. Rock, and sing a song or two. Looking drowsy and yawning, dive into the crib and snuggle up like she can't wait to fall asleep. As soon as Mom leaves, yank off both socks and scratch her feet until they bleed. (Eczema). Cry until Mom comes back. Diaper change. Aquaphor all over both feet; socks back on. A little more rocking, one more song. Back in the crib. And speaking of napping.

Friday, August 29, 2014. Cora learned a new trick! In other news. Brandon had the day off - first one in 18 days! Which means he only spent a few. Hours at the hospital today (Wait. what? That's not how I spend my days off). Time to get this (extra) long weekend started. Tuesday, August 26, 2014. Just a couple of kids! Kid-free, just-the-two-of-us years. New in-laws added (plus 5 nieces and nephews! Great, big adventure! No one I'd rather do this life with! Happy Anniversary, B :). Friday, August 22, 2014.

Thursday, October 30, 2014. Cross Timbers State Park. With Brandon working nights, we've been making an effort to get out of the house during the day, so that he can sleep. Yesterday we drove to Cross Timbers State Park in southeast Kansas for a morning of hiking and a picnic lunch. The weather was beautiful, and the kids had a blast. Pre-hike - happy campers. At the trail head! The hike started out really well! Taking two kids out in the woods by myself? Daddy will be so excited :). I'd say our Wednesda...

Monday, May 19, 2014. Brandon GRADUATED last Friday with his Doctor of Medicine and Doctor of Philosophy degrees. He has been working towards this moment for the past seven years, and it was an occasion to CELEBRATE Brandon and his accomplishments! Who also graduated with the joint degree. After the luncheon, we headed home for naps and waited for our guests to arrive! Green for medicine, blue for the graduate college. Pictures with the graduate! But so fun to celebrate Brandon and the end of our time he...

Allemans: September 2014
http://allemans.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Tuesday, September 30, 2014. Even before residency began, we heard a LOT about the annual Via Christi Family Med Residency Bike Trip. Every September the entire first and second year classes leave Kansas for a retreat in the mountains of Colorado - leaving the third year class behind to cover all the inpatient shifts for an extra-long weekend! Of the social aspects of residency. It seemed like this trip was going to be no exception. The itinerary for the retreat was not. I quickly became convinced that g...

Friday, April 24, 2015. Great Plains Transportation Museum. We are in a playgroup with other residency families that meets once a week to do fun things around Wichita. This week we met up at the Great Plains Transportation Museum for a tour. Contrary to the name, the museum was all about Trains! I couldn't believe how big the wheels on this engine were! My kids are not pros at posing for pictures.and it was a bit windy, and I forgot to bring jackets). Jonah got to ring the bell :). It is controlled chaos...
