Arguing to Mediate/Negotiate: March 2008
http://million103.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html
Monday, March 10, 2008. Each partner will create his or her own blog through blogger.com. It can be as fancy or as bare-bones as you desire, but have fun with it. This will be set up in class Monday, March 24. Have your topic decided on for class Friday. Create a blog entry that is a BRIEF for your “side” of the argument. Remember you are arguing to convince or persuade, so you may want to review Chapters 7 and 8 in The Aims of Argument. This step will require some preliminary research. Don't wait. Defin...

The LR is due by 11:59 pm Friday, December 7, 2007. It needs to include (at least) 14 observations. And includes evidence from your LR and blog. I have skimmed o...

Arguing to Negotiate: Brief on Universal Health Care
http://arguingtonegotiate-rose.blogspot.com/2008/04/brief-on-universal-health-care.html
Wednesday, April 2, 2008. Brief on Universal Health Care. Many people who come into the hospital without insurance are also the ones that are obese or have lung problems from smoking. Universal health care means the costs will be spread to all Americans, regardless of your health or your need for medical care, which is essentially unfair. Why would people who take care of themselves and make money have to pay for the stupidity of other people? Although your points were good some of them used some common ...

Arguing to Negotiate: First Draft of Final Paper
http://arguingtonegotiate-rose.blogspot.com/2008/04/first-draft-of-final-paper.html
Wednesday, April 16, 2008. First Draft of Final Paper. First states need to eliminate the insurance regulations that drive costs up and providers out of the market. Right now the United States has the most privatized system, with the most competition—causing the highest health care costs in the world (Krugman). If states were to control the insurance companies more, and limit the number of companies permitted, then prices would go down because competition would decrease. Leavitt, Mike. “Reformi...Patel, ...

Arguing to Negotiate: Mediated Draft
http://arguingtonegotiate-rose.blogspot.com/2008/04/mediated-draft.html
Friday, April 11, 2008. Reason 1: There is no such thing as a ‘free lunch,’ nor should their ever be. In the United States, programs such as Welfare have given some of the population the idea that it is acceptable to live off of their government and not strive to better their lives with the opportunities for advancement offered. This is America: the land of opportunity! I don't understand what you mean by this, ".if their situation deems necessary.". Just semantics, but important. Than" should be "then".
