Terry Ryan News | Minnesota Twins Musings
https://mntwinsmusings.wordpress.com/2014/02/10/terry-ryan-news
Skip to primary content. February 10, 2014. I’ve been eagerly waiting for any news from the Twins, anticipating more changes to the roster, but today the news from Twins’ headquarters is not good. I hope Terry Ryan and his medical team will be successful at getting rid of the cancer. From the brief reports in the media today, there appears to be optimism that he caught it early enough and the treatments will be effective. Best wishes to him and his family. This entry was posted in Front Office.

Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. Newer posts →. January 31, 2014. Five players on the Twins’ current 40-man roster are considered middle infielders. Three have some major league experience. As of today, I predict Escobar will be the starter and Florimon the backup/utility player, because I think Escobar has a better chance of being a decent hitter and his defensive is good enough, sometimes stellar. January 30, 2014. Max Kepler could also be on this list, as last year he played a major...

Skip to primary content. Writers I Follow 2014. February 6, 2014. Yesterday I mentioned appreciating the local sports reporters for what they do. Today I’ve decided to create a listing of the Twins beat reporters and others I follow for Twins news and discussion. I’m doing this mostly for my own benefit long term. I think it will be interesting to be able to look back a few years from now and see a snapshot of the media I followed in 2014. Here is a listing of those I read regularly online:. Enter your c...
Coaches for 2014 | Minnesota Twins Musings
https://mntwinsmusings.wordpress.com/2014/02/07/coaches-for-2014
Skip to primary content. February 7, 2014. The Twins’ coaching staff for 2014 is the same as last year with one exception. Last fall Paul Molitor was added as a major league coach, and according to the current listing of coaches. No matter what the motivation for this addition, it will be interesting to see what impact he has on the team throughout the season. This entry was posted in Speculation. And tagged Paul Molitor. Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. Sano and Third Base. March 2, 2014. Missed on the prediction that Miguel Sano would start the season in Rochester. He will instead be in rehab. The result for the Twins in 2014 is third base could be a major hole if Trevor Plouffe does not develop into the all-round player needed at that position. There are no real alternatives for anything other than stop-gap play unless the Twins trade for someone to fill the hole and give Plouffe some genuine com...

The Twins Armchair GM: February 2012
http://thetwinsarmchairgm.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
Wednesday, February 29, 2012. High School Draft Prospect Roundup. High school game recaps are proving more difficult to come by, but I was able to find some information on each of the guys I have been intrigued by. Harvard-Westlake's Lucas Giolito has shown why he may be the first high school RHP ever taken first in the draft hitting 100 mph. Carroll HS, TX OF Courtney Hawkins and his team started out 1-0 this week and Hawkins even pitched an inning in the opening win. Massive RHP Taylore Cherry of Butle...

The Twins Armchair GM: May 2012
http://thetwinsarmchairgm.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html
Thursday, May 10, 2012. The Denard to the Nationals rumors refuse to die, and with the Twins looking like they will not be competing in the next 2-3 years. I think maximizing Spans trade value and dealing him in the next month might be the right thing to do. With that in mind I would start the negotiations with Span for Rendon straight up. Twins get their 3B of the future and the Nats fill a big need with a solid CF and very good leadoff hitter as they make a run this year. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

The Twins Armchair GM: Prep Draft Prospect Week 2 Update...
http://thetwinsarmchairgm.blogspot.com/2012/03/prep-draft-prospect-week-2-update.html
Sunday, March 11, 2012. Prep Draft Prospect Week 2 Update. Byron Buxton, who is now my favorite prospect for the Twins at #2, has lea his Appling County HS team to a 6-0 start on the year. His high school team has a site with game recaps (but no stats) that can be found here. I think Buxton has as high if not a higher ceiling than Aaron Hicks, but his bat may be more polished than Hicks was at the same age. Caroll TX HS OF Courtney Hawkins. And has led them to a 4-0 record so far. Lavell E. Neal III.

The Twins Armchair GM: My Overly Optimistic Two Cents on the Twins "Plan"
http://thetwinsarmchairgm.blogspot.com/2013/04/my-overly-optimistic-two-cents-on-twins.html
Wednesday, April 10, 2013. My Overly Optimistic Two Cents on the Twins "Plan". I believe their plan is this based on what I have read, heard, etc.:. 1 Rid the books of any dead salary for the 2015 season outside of Mauer. 2 Rebuild the farm system through the draft and international signings. A They are off to a good start in this regards but would benefit from more frontline SP depth and up the middle talent. 3 Spend sparingly in Free Agency for 2013,’14, ’15 & #8217;16. D I think Mauer is probably hard...

The Twins Armchair GM: Span to Jays?
http://thetwinsarmchairgm.blogspot.com/2012/06/span-to-jays.html
Tuesday, June 5, 2012. Span for J.P. Arencibia, pitching prospects Deck McGuire and Adonys Cardona. The Jays get a true leadoff hitter. The Twins get a solid, young cost controlled catcher to pair with Mauer and a solid mid-rotation pitching prospect who could be ready by 2014, plus a lottery ticket in Cardona. The Twins Armchair GM: October 2011
http://thetwinsarmchairgm.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
Thursday, October 13, 2011. 2011-2012 offseason outlook Part 2 Starting Pitcher. What the current rotation will be: (in my opinion). I’ll admit I do not know much about him other then he turned down 4 years and 15m from the A's last year. Per his numbers on baseball-reference.com ( http:/ www.baseball-reference.com/bullpen/Hisashi Iwakuma. And I think he would be an ideal fit for the Twins especially if they improve the middle infield defense as well this offseason as that is the main culprit behind Nola...

Taylor's Twins Talk
Focusing on the Twins, with a few ramblings on other things that catch my attention. Friday, October 09, 2009. It's a double-reference. I'm hoping, for one thing, that the Twins will rise from the (largely self-created) ashes of the current 2-0 deficit to the Yankees and hand the Bombers a drubbing in Games 3 and 4 at the Dome. But the reference is also to this blog. Or, at least, the spirit. If you liked what you read here, hop on over. Hope to see you there! Posted by JST @ Friday, October 09, 2009.
