A record of my training for the Moab Century Tour on September 19th, 2009. Sunday, July 5, 2009. Week 7: Marsh Station Road. We increased the mileage quite a bit to 60 for this Saturday's ride. Not so much climbing this time, but we've been behind on distance for a few weeks now, and it's good to catch up a bit to where we should be overall. A record of my training for the Moab Century Tour on September 19th, 2009. Sunday, May 31, 2009. The first training rides. Our first weekly training ride was on Saturday, May 23. This ride was just to get to know everyone in the group and to see how comfortable everyone was on a bicycle (believe it or not, some people sign up for this without even knowing how to ride! 160;The ride was a 20-mile loop on the northwest side of Tucson, starting at the corner of Cortaro. This Saturday's ride was the most climbing yet- the most climbing that I've every done at a time! We rode the entire distance up Kitt. Peak, 12 miles up the mountain with an average 6% grade, with some parts as steep as 8%. A short map is below. First is a picture of the road ahead just as we're starting out.
