Creative Promotional Marketing: The Great Game of Business
http://bamboomktg.blogspot.com/2010/01/great-game-of-business.html
A place to come for some fresh thinking and an introduction to the magic of Bamboo. Monday, January 18, 2010. The Great Game of Business. It sounds horribly simple, but when we began to focus the whole business on getting out there and having more meetings, we saw an incredible change in energy. It stopped being a job and became a team sport. We introduced rules and a scoreboard. We had started playing the Great Game of Business. His simple theory of critical numbers can be applied to any business. Come ...

Creative Promotional Marketing: Promotionally Convenient
http://bamboomktg.blogspot.com/2009/04/promotionally-convenient.html
A place to come for some fresh thinking and an introduction to the magic of Bamboo. Tuesday, April 28, 2009. A brand goes out there and blows its big brand trumpet. It waves its big brand flag. It bangs its big brand chest. Everyone knows about the big brand. Big ads on TV. Big billboards. Big everything. Of course lots of brand marketing can lead the proverbial horse to water, but this writer believes that it’s a good promotion that will result in the horse having a drink! Posted by Mark Alexander.

Creative Promotional Marketing: December 2008
http://bamboomktg.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
A place to come for some fresh thinking and an introduction to the magic of Bamboo. Friday, December 26, 2008. The world has changed forever. I think most consumers are wondering how these massive sums being thrown at the financial markets are going to effect their own financial positions. No one is quite sure. I have heard local agencies in Sydney stopping any recruitment; laying off staff; waiting for the storm to come or is it pass. How much of all of this is a knee jerk reaction? If things are going ...

A place to come for some fresh thinking and an introduction to the magic of Bamboo. Wednesday, September 10, 2008. Brilliant Orange Promotional Window. Posted by Mark Alexander. Links to this post. Tuesday, September 09, 2008. Brilliant opportunities destroyed by incapable marketers. I read it today. In The Australian. I struggled to understand what they meant. They did want something different. But they also didnt want to take any risk for fear of failure. Well listen here, loser! What you goin to lose?

Creative Promotional Marketing: March 2009
http://bamboomktg.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
A place to come for some fresh thinking and an introduction to the magic of Bamboo. Saturday, March 28, 2009. The last 5 feet. I was interviewed about retail promotions by B&T last week - they are calling it "The Last 5 Feet". Brilliant. Then the idea is presented to the retailer. The retailers are bright, passionate and incredibly experienced. They know who their consumer is, what they buy, how often and why. They want their vendors to help by putting together plans that help their consumers...Sydney ma...

Creative Promotional Marketing: May 2008
http://bamboomktg.blogspot.com/2008_05_01_archive.html
A place to come for some fresh thinking and an introduction to the magic of Bamboo. Thursday, May 08, 2008. It is all nonsense. A list of activities that have little rhyme or reason and certainly no idea behind them. But what does the consumer want? Does she want some lame stunt holding up traffic on the Harbour Bridge while she is trying to rush back to cook the kids dinner before popping over to Margaret's for an impromptu tupperware party? My view is have a worthy reason if you are considering a stunt...

A place to come for some fresh thinking and an introduction to the magic of Bamboo. Monday, February 02, 2009. Godbless those wonderful heady thoughts that if we give the consumer all of the right bits and pieces they will want our product and go buy the little sucker from our friendly little corner store. I had a lovely chap explain to me that 35% of Australian purchasers walk into the retail channel expecting to buy one of his products and only 12% of that 35% actually walk out of the store with one.

http://bamboomktg.blogspot.com/2008_08_01_archive.html
A place to come for some fresh thinking and an introduction to the magic of Bamboo. Thursday, August 21, 2008. We are spending more and more time with clients who 'want to do something on facebook'. It is a fantastic brief to have, primarily because it is an open invitation to be as creative as we can without having to suffer any of the consequences of the ideas failing. What on earth does that mean? Posted by Mark Alexander. Links to this post. Monday, August 18, 2008. Posted by Mark Alexander. And see ...

Creative Promotional Marketing: Promo Review 01 - 4th April, 2008

A place to come for some fresh thinking and an introduction to the magic of Bamboo. Saturday, April 04, 2009. Promo Review 01 - 4th April, 2008. First cab off the rank is this little puppy from Coca-Cola - who confusingly disribute Nestea for Nestle. So, the promotion is still being showcased in our local Woolworths one week after the promotion has closed. This is probably at the lower end of our industry. Buy Nestea and get a guaranteed $50 off your next holiday. Posted by Mark Alexander. In this "econo...
