In the footsteps of Jackson Brodie: 2011-11-27

http://www.mockelj.blogspot.com/2011_11_27_archive.html

In the footsteps of Jackson Brodie. Sunday, November 27, 2011. I am thankful for my weekend on Orcas Island with Omar :). After a failed attempt to catch the 4:30 ferry to the island and a quick game of Innovation in the car (thanks Judy), we boarded the ferry to our island paradise. Yes, it is winter. Yes, the weather was a bit cold and very windy, but it was paradise. Omar and I spent our days as relaxed as we wanted to be. Hungry? Throw something in the skillet. Tired? Take a nap. Bored?

In the footsteps of Jackson Brodie. Saturday, August 18, 2012. Lindsey and I made it safely to Edinburgh which is in full festival season mode. Crowds of people everywhere this weekend which should thin out during the week. We are about to venture out to get a bite to eat. We are both more exhausted than hungry but are trying to adapt to the new time. Tuesday, August 14, 2012. Testing: one, two, three. I took this shot of Smudge on her perch on the porch as a test. Isn't she lovely? Ta Ta For Now. Is lic...

In the footsteps of Jackson Brodie. Wednesday, July 27, 2011. I love to bake. If I didn't end up eating the majority of what I bake, I would bake everyday. In the future, I want to own a big, clay, outdoor, wood-fired oven where I could bake all day without heating up the house. Pizzas, pies, fruit bread, cookies, quiche. I would bake them all! And, what better use of leftover dough than cinnamon rolls! I wanted to share my favorite recipe of all time. It is simple, easy and delicious! Omar and I especia...

A Wallace Way of Life: February 2013

http://thewallaceadventures.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html

February 13, 2013. It has been a crazy few months around here. So much is going on and time is going by so fast! Our sweet little boy has had a rough month as he has been sick since about Christmas. It has been viral infection after viral infection since we put him in daycare. We are all exhausted from all the doctors and hospital visits! Thankfully, James is doing great this week and we hope he continues to be a healthy baby boy! Since the last time, James has had 3 "monthly" birthdays!

A Wallace Way of Life: October 2013

http://thewallaceadventures.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html

October 18, 2013. The Wallaces have really been enjoying the beautiful Fall that we've been having here in Birmingham! We've picnicked at Railroad Park for the Food Truck Festival. We ate and drank beer while James danced to the D.J. and ate his first popsicle! Last weekend, we spent a couple of hours at the Pumpkin Patch. I will have to say that I was a little skeptical at how much James would a) enjoy it and b) understand what was going on. First, we went on a short hay ride to the pumpkin patch. I am ...

A Wallace Way of Life: Holiday Wrap-Up

http://thewallaceadventures.blogspot.com/2015/05/holiday-wrap-up.html

May 11, 2015. Since it's been awhile since I've posted anything on the blog, I'm going to do a wrap-up of the last couple of holidays that I haven't blogged about. I really want to document every special occasion of our lives so I can reminisce in a few years as I read my past blog posts. So, here it goes. My parents came to visit the day before Christmas Eve. James was so excited that they were here! This is definitely a tradition I would like to continue every year. It was delicious! I'm going to have ...

A Wallace Way of Life: Lydia Emily Wallace

http://thewallaceadventures.blogspot.com/2015/05/lydia-emily-wallace.html

May 14, 2015. On Wednesday, April 8th, 2015 our sweet Baby Lydia was born at 10:29. She weighed 7 lbs, 7 oz . and was 19.5 inches long. She is so beautiful and we are so in love with this sweet thing. The night before her delivery I was having some mild contractions so I was not surprised to hear that I was 4 centimeters dilated when I arrived at the hospital the next morning. Already on the way! They started the induction around 7:30 am and she was born just three hours later! Later that day, Big Brothe...

A Wallace Way of Life: The Months Before Christmas

http://thewallaceadventures.blogspot.com/2014/12/the-months-before-christmas.html

December 17, 2014. The Months Before Christmas. I know it's been a long time since I last posted something on this blog. It saddens me that I am not documenting James' milestones and toddler years but I am going to do my best to do a quick summary of things that have been going on around year since the last time I posted. This is not to say that every moment is blissful and calm. He is two, ya know. And sometimes, the TWO in him comes out! We also made a BIG announcement. We moved right before Halloween ...

A Wallace Way of Life: August 2014

http://thewallaceadventures.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html

August 4, 2014. In June, we made our way to the Gulf Coast for the 2nd annual Wallace Beach Trip. This time, we were fortunate to stay for an entire week. This really worked out great because Nannie, Grandpa, Uncle John, Aunt Amy, and cousin Thomas were all able to come see us! James had an absolute BLAST at the beach this year. He loved every minute of it. He loved playing in the sand, splashing in the pool, EVERYTHING! The part of the pool he loved the most was when Daddy would join him! Bring lots of ...

A Wallace Way of Life: April 2013

http://thewallaceadventures.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html

April 15, 2013. 7 months and Easter. James turned 7 months old on Easter weekend. He weighs about 17 pounds and is about 28.5 inches long. He is keeping his figure slender while his legs are growing so long! James loves to sit up by himself and play with all of his toys! He loves having all of his toys surrounding him at one time so he pick one up at any time. He is eating about three "meals" a day and about 30 ounces of formula a day! He is really a growing boy! Most of all, James loves to smile! At one...

May 13, 2013. James turned 8 months old about two weeks ago! I know I'm a little behind). He is still such a happy baby and so much fun! He weighs about 18 pounds and is about 28.5 inches long. We aren't sure of the exact measurements since we haven't had to go to the doctor in a while! He needs Mommy's help once he's up, but is so proud of himself after he pulls up. He just looks at me and smiles so big and lets out a high pitched squeal! He knows he is turning in to such a big boy. Time has flown by!

A Wallace Way of Life: March 2013

http://thewallaceadventures.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html

March 21, 2013. 6 Months (and 3 weeks). James turned 6 months. three weeks ago! I know, I know. I've been so busy, that I totally forgot to post about his 6 month birthday! He is growing so fast and is such a happy baby! When we took his 6 month pictures, he had a rash on his chin that we weren't sure where it came from. Luckily, it went away the next day :). At 6 months, James weighed 16 lbs and 6 ounces and was 28 inches long! He is eating so much ALL THE TIME! He is such a smart boy! I got caught face...
