There’s a two-inch wide strip of flower bed where the snow has melted, and this beauty has poked its head up, along with two spindlier things I presume to be either crocuses or glory of the snow. Don't be bleak, be exotique. Bring in the clowns. Lately I've been very inspired with vintage clowns and circus performers from the 1930's. At first one thinks of clowns as jokey or scary, but they used to be interesting; an exaggeration of beautiful elements and over the top in a fun way. From dynamic face paint to ruffles and stripes, one can never say they aren't interesting. Next, I intend to design a line based on peacocks and the 1920's. What inspires you? Don't be bleak, be exotique.
