Middlehampton model railway: Running test #2

http://middlehampton.blogspot.com/2010/07/running-test-2.html

Charting progress in constructing my loft layout. The video evidence is here! Click on the links below. Next step: put in some lighting and webcams along the storage sidings, and then rig up the control panel. Slowly but surely, I'm getting there. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Middlehampton model railway: The track dilemma

http://middlehampton.blogspot.com/2008/12/track-dilemma.html

Charting progress in constructing my loft layout. Well, very little has happened over the past few weeks. This is not for any reason other than the pressure of other commitments. As soon as I can, I will be back in the loft and resuming progress. I need for the station throat) the new trackwork will probably have to be bought over an extended period. So in the interests of progress, I may need to use some of my old Hornby track for a while. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

Middlehampton model railway: December 2009

http://middlehampton.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html

Charting progress in constructing my loft layout. Finally, finally, I got some more loft time today! I used it to lay some more track in the storage sidings. Because I am gluing the track to the trackbed, I need to leave it alone while the glue dries, and so I had time to install the track bus wiring. Suddenly the bundles of wires start to look impressive. Most of the track bus connections are now soldered to the track and run back to connector block into which the DCC power is fed. So far, so easy.

Middlehampton model railway: Onward and upward

http://middlehampton.blogspot.com/2010/06/onward-and-upward.html

Charting progress in constructing my loft layout. Track laying continues around the inner feeder loop, from B1l round to F4i. My trusty Hoover gets up the inner incline without any complaints - so the secret really may be in beefing up my motive power. I wonder how much that will cost. The single point in the foreground is the turnout for the "cassette loader" mentioned in a much earlier post. For the lids to go on. CJ Freezer, PSL Book of Model Railway Track Plans, 1988. Middlehampton model railway: The second incline

http://middlehampton.blogspot.com/2009/05/second-incline.html

Charting progress in constructing my loft layout. Change of plan again. Rather than work on the outer loop (F2o-F1o) I have instead made progress today with the inner loop from B1l round to F4i. The "spur to nowhere" visible at the back of B2 will eventually be the feeder for the cassette loader mentioned in a previous post. I won't do any more work on that for the moment as it would just get in the way of more important things. The trackbed join now runs perpendicular to the track for each line, so ther...

Middlehampton model railway: May 2010

http://middlehampton.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html

Charting progress in constructing my loft layout. Slow ahead, slow. Although I may not have posted for two months, I have continued to work on the model (although slowly). Track laying on the outer loop feeder has reached F2, halfway across which section the track will emerge from the tunnel portal. I've been spending lots of time thinking about scenery. more on this in the next post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Slow ahead, slow. Swiss Railway Clock - SBB.

Middlehampton model railway: October 2009

http://middlehampton.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html

Charting progress in constructing my loft layout. What happened to the branch line? Having re-read yesterday's post about track laying, I realised that there is a gap in the story. My previous post. Talked about finishing the branch line and then. Starting the track laying. So what happened to the branch line? Because the layout has so many section breaks it's important to keep everything as level as possible. My first attempt has not been altogether successful:. It isn't too bad, in the sense that it do...

Middlehampton model railway: March 2010

http://middlehampton.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html

Charting progress in constructing my loft layout. It may have been two months since my last post, but there has been some progress. Excruciatingly slow progress, yes, but progress nonetheless. The low-level storage sidings are finally finished, and I can now turn my attention to the feeder tracks. It feels like it won't be long before I am laying track that will actually be visible on the final model - about time too! And here are the storage sidings looking the other way:. Middlehampton model railway: September 2010

http://middlehampton.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html

Charting progress in constructing my loft layout. I've not given up, honest. One of my readers commented today that they hadn't seen a blog update for some time. Nearly three months, in fact. There are various reasons for this. I have not given up on the layout - far from it - but a combination of summer holidays and a bit of a setback have conspired to stop development. The setback is that my curved crossover (shown in this photo. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.
