Mrs Guy's Observatory: Last Day At Work
http://mrsguy.blogspot.com/2016/12/last-day-at-work.html
December 22, 2016. Last Day At Work. I left the factory extremely satisfied yesterday. I had finished making an illustrated directory for the wiki of our first 40 employees, when each left the company. I was at a good stopping point, so I left work early. But not before watering Dave, my ficus. Then I went to the gold place and got $90 for the charm that came with the chain I got at an auction. On the way back to my car I appreciated this:. Then home, to wait it out. Who knows? Maybe he'll come home and ...

Mrs Guy's Observatory: March 2016
http://mrsguy.blogspot.com/2016_03_01_archive.html
March 27, 2016. I'm visiting the mama later today and she DOES believe in Easter. Therefore when I was packing her house this summer I made certain to bring along some baskets that I could use to make her future Easters festive. Yes, people, I am helping her celebrate Easter, despite what I just said earlier. Whatever. It's a pagan holiday and we all know it. The egg salad sandwich store in Vienna. There at Trzesniewski, in the shadow of the Loos American Bar. You can share a table with a local, drink a ...

Mrs Guy's Observatory: July 2016
http://mrsguy.blogspot.com/2016_07_01_archive.html
July 15, 2016. Japan July 2016 Saturday. Note: as is my custom of late, I only wrote two posts in real time and then the rest in arrears. I am reposting the m in order six weeks later. Time to switch gears and go to Japan. Despite having put things aside for the trip prior to my family vacation it took until the last minute to finish packing (while watching Season 1 of Hawaii 5-0). Mrguy was my ride, and got me to the airport with plenty of time. Haneda has been interesting. I followed my colleagues&...

Mrs Guy's Observatory: Pantheon of Dudes
http://mrsguy.blogspot.com/2016/12/pantheon-of-dudes.html
December 19, 2016. Last night we went to a party at our neighbors' house. Their tree was a classic beauty - tasteful ornaments, nice tree with lots of space between the branches and (a guilty pleasure) it was flocked. They suspected I'd have an artsy tree, so they inquired about it. I think they'd be horrified. It's a Nordman Pine, which is perfectly normal, but my tree is all about sentimentality. I didn't even have the energy to be very artful this year, but all the elements are in place. And then ther...

Mrs Guy's Observatory: September 2016
http://mrsguy.blogspot.com/2016_09_01_archive.html
September 19, 2016. Japan take two was great, but there is a series of complicated life events surrounding us, and we leave for Hawaii day after tomorrow:. Mother-in-law wants more opiates than her doctor wants her to have and is pitching fits. Mom's best friend of 75 years is in hospice. Mom's caregivers are flaky (this item seems small by comparison, but I've filled in by spending every day with her since I came home, and I'm beat). One of our favorite cousins had a major stroke yesterday. Then I ate a.

Mrs Guy's Observatory: More Moments!
http://mrsguy.blogspot.com/2016/12/more-moments.html
December 14, 2016. My bro saw a specialist on Thursday. He has more like a year. To a guy who was going to call Hospice on Monday, having a bunch more months to think about that seems like a great deal. We all agree. Nephew was suffering from a neck issue, so the mama gave him a massage. And she helped me finish trimming the tree. And I put on a bunch of awesome music (Jack Teagarden, the Talbot Brothers, random Mexican rock music from the 60's). The mama danced with me. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Mrs Guy's Observatory: December Beauty
http://mrsguy.blogspot.com/2016/12/december-beauty.html
December 16, 2016. I looked at my phone when I got home and found this photo. A funny moment of accidental beauty. And this was a photo I took while something else was happening. I couldn't reveal factory secrets, so mrsguy gets a photo of turnip greens. Looking for photos to distract me as the year winds down. We must all take serendipity where we can find it. Looking forward to seeing you on the 22nd! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Being for the benefit of Mr Guy. View my complete profile.

Mrs Guy's Observatory: January 2016
http://mrsguy.blogspot.com/2016_01_01_archive.html
January 21, 2016. RIP, my friend. My two times with you were magical (and mosquito-filled). This trip has been filled with neuscheiss. Usually we do altscheiss (old shit). Yes, it is tragic to say goodbye to your Neatloaf or Sloppy Gluten or whatever it is I used to eat there, but we will be trying out Ai Love Nalo today. Ended up buying some new flippies, a s well as. The mall also used to have a bowling alley , which has amazing arch itecture, so we stopped to photograph that. I picked the wrong day fo...

Mrs Guy's Observatory: June 2016
http://mrsguy.blogspot.com/2016_06_01_archive.html
June 26, 2016. Yesterday we had an impromptu high school reunion. It was very nice, I have never been referred to as one of "you bitches" more often and not cared, and, in true Real Housewives / Shahs of Sunset style, we may have the next gathering at someone's second house in Palm Springs. The weirdest part of the get-together was having people ask "Who were you? Side note: I wish you were there, person-who-doesn't-return-my-emails-or-texts, but I couldn't reach you]. This is the only photo I took.

Mrs Guy's Observatory: Calling Linda Wong
http://mrsguy.blogspot.com/2016/12/calling-linda-wong.html
December 17, 2016. Linda and I first met a year ago, when I got a new phone number. The first time I called middlesis using my new phone she said "Linda Wong? Her caller ID had identified me as Linda Wong. And thus it started. I am now officially Linda Wong to my sis. Since the election the flow of calls has slowed somewhat. Until yesterday. South Asian accent. Such a crack up. Eventually Greg Smith skedaddled and the next dealership didn't use balloons. South Asian accent introduces himself as Greg Brow...
