Teach, MD: Both Sides of the Table
http://teachmd.blogspot.com/2012/05/both-sides-of-table.html
What is Teach, MD? Thursday, May 31, 2012. Both Sides of the Table. If I may, a piece of advice to the new intern class of emergency medicine residents. When you are on your surgery rotations, remember that you are an EM resident. If you operate on a patient, ask the anesthesiologist to intubate that patient too. It is very cool to be on one side of the table, scrub, and then assist the surgeon on the other side of the table. You are a multitasker. Tim Peck, MD. Timothy C. Peck, MD. Residing in the ER.

What is Teach, MD? What is Teach, MD? Is an evolving idea. The focus of Teach, MD is to rethink medical education. To step back and say, maybe this could be done differently. Maybe it could be done better. The purpose of this blog is two-fold:. 1 To present some of my own ideas and solutions to rethinking medical education, and. 2 To encourage open conversation and collaboration in order to make change. Consider this: besides your own profession, which profession do you know the most about? Why do we hav...

Teach, MD: Web 3.0
http://teachmd.blogspot.com/2013/01/web-30.html
What is Teach, MD? Tuesday, January 22, 2013. Many in academic medicine have not yet accepted the values of the social media revolution. Many tell me that it is clumsy, disjointed, and the dilution of information makes that information less valuable. Although my instinct is to be defensive of this medium in which I function, I unfortunately cannot disagree with these sentiments. The other day I went to see Samuel Shem speak. For those of you not familiar, he is the author of House of God. But as I listen...

Radiology in Emergency Medicine. RSS feed for this archive. Student Corner: Ultrasound Approach to DVT. January 28, 2016. Deep venous thromboses are thought to occur in as many as 1 in 1000 people annually. During the ultrasound exam, is important for the leg to be in a dependent position, which will allow for ideal assessment during compression. This can be achieved by putting the patient in reverse Trendelenburg, or by having them partially seated with 30 degrees of hip flexion. A note about the nomenc...
