Pleasure with a social conscience. November 2, 2012. May 9, 2014. Yes, I’m still here. You may see me popping up on FB every once in a (long) while – simultaneously attempting to catch up on what you all are up to, and procrastinating on homework. 1 I have an amazing support system. 2 My friends in the program are a rockin’ lifeline. 3 I think I was pretty much born to do this (ie, why did I wait so long? Pleasure with a social conscience. I’m ready for music again. July 2, 2013. May 9, 2014. But it still felt SO so good. I was flooded with relief and happiness. It was cathartic and joyful and strangely painful all at the same time, and it got me thinking about why the act of musical expression is so important to me. Santa barbara →. Pleasure with a social conscience. May 18, 2010. May 18, 2010. Since my birthday this year falls on a workday, the fun times got split up over several days. On Sunday (Adam’s first weekend out of school for the summer! Just a few moments ago this arrived (gorgeous Toby Pomeroy necklace from Mom and Alan! Today, I had lunch at the Heathman with Joanna (after she brought me lilies, wine, chocolate, and assorted other goodies). The menu included:. Lentil Soup with Ham and Fresh Herbs (me). May 18, 2010.

Pleasure with a social conscience. February 13, 2011. May 9, 2014. A great, healthy, natural high is exactly what I’ve been needing. So I’m feeling alot happier and healthier and way hotter than I have in a long time. Also, I came across this recently:. Obvi this is the hand of Constantine. I was being such a dork that Adam almost wouldn’t take the picture, but I begged him. And I also just found this one of me at Dana’s wedding. That was such wonderful day! So both these pics made me smile. May 9, 2014.

Pleasure with a social conscience. September 19, 2013. May 9, 2014. This little cottage is perfect. It is such a blessing. It is just the right size – not too big,. Tomorrow, after my massage, my new friend Elizabeth (pictured below – she used to live in this cottage) is going to take me downtown and we are going to explore and do some wine tasting and whatever else seems fun. I’m going to try to go to the beach I think one or both of the weekend days. 8211; and I had to really confront how selfish I had...

Saturday, May 9, 2009. As of an hour ago, my third year of grad school is over. Latin comps are passed (yay! Papers and take-home finals handed in. The only remnant of school is the stack of grading (and the stack of books to start studying for Greek comps). The ten straight days of rain are also over. The annual neighborhood yard sale is on, and I just finished eating this. Lovely kale salad for lunch, and getting ready to head out! Garden pictures to come in a few days. Saturday, May 29, 2010. Update on nothing much. The plants are growing nicely. From Smitten Kitchen is fab. I've made it twice this week because the first time I ate half of it while standing in the kitchen waiting for the kebabs to grill. And now I see that she has posted a shaved asparagus pizza. I just used up my gf pizza dough on a pesto-goat cheese flatbread! I have gone running 4 times this week. Yay new running shoes. Paris is something. :). May 30, 2010 at 3:24 PM. Thursday, June 5, 2008. The constantly over-committed perfectionist known as Dana finally overdid it for real. After writing the last post, she decided that she REALLY HAD TO take FOUR classes, because they were so interesting and would never be offered again. Along with teaching four days a week and making the significant (and time-consuming) life decision to join the Orthodox church (see here. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Saturday, July 17, 2010. Mais je suis allergique au gluten et oeufs. I am practicing for my Paris restaurant debut. It's my first time travelling internationally post-allergy diagnosis, and it makes me a little sad that it has to be in Paris, the home of baguettes and marvelous pastries of all sorts. But I'm sure there are plenty of other delicious things to be discovered. I have no great plans for the Paris end of the trip yet. I'm more of the relaxed type of sight-seer - I'd rather sleep in, drink ...
Magical Realism: August 2010
http://magicalrealist.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html
Saturday, August 7, 2010. A few pictures from France. I've been trying to get a lot of academic work done before I leave again next week, so I haven't done any comprehensive photo-uploading, but I wanted to put up just a few of my favorite pictures. Which is to say, the few that are actually sort of presentable. I am a bad photographer - this is why I need Brooks along on trips! And I mostly take pictures out of a sense of obligation: I need to document this! Other people will expect to see this!
