In Europe for ROHS, the were unavailable worldwide and disappeared from Apple store later on, leaving just accessories behind. Now it's their final. I'm pretty sure we'll not see any new external iSight. Why? Read the release notes. For MacOS X 10.4.9 update. Includes iChat support for USB Video Class webcams.

They had to give "classic" attribute to "the iPod" which was generally just upgraded with cooler OS and twice the storage. The iPod" is GONE! And that's a thing the "touch" can't do!
