39 miles of Great Scenery and Fun. A mine discovered in 1874 in Mojave County, started this town and in those early years there was plenty of cowboys for fighting and faro. The railroad reached Hackberry in 1882, and shipments of cattle began. Hackberry became an very important debarkation point. At its peak it shipped the third largest number of cattle from Arizona. There are still a few old buildings including the Hackberry General Store and a few homes where a small number of residents still live.

This is the view of I-40 as you crossover to Alamo Road. As Alamo Road leaves exit 25 and heads east it begins as Mohave County 15. The first thing you will encounter is the huge dome sometimes called the Golf Ball House, other times it is called the Space Station House. The ball was orginally built to be a restaurant and nite club for a land development project. It was built around 1971 and has a 40 diameter. Here is video link that was valid in 2015.
