Saturday, June 15, 2013. These waffles are dead simple and absolutely delicious! 1 cup sour cream. 4 tbls butter, melted and cooled. Vegetable oil or extra melted butter, for the waffle iron. Berries and whipped cream optional. Beat the eggs and sugar together for about 5 to 8 minutes. Combine the flour and salt. My family likes it with butter and honey or syrup or jam. 2 teaspoons baking powder. 2 1/4 cups milk, or sour milk, or buttermilk. 1 stick of butter, melted. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Butter a 9 x 13 inch bake pan. Mix the dry ingredients in a big bowl. In another bowl or pitcher, combine the egg and milk. Pour into the bowl with the the dry ingredients and mix. Add in the melted butter.

I’m not sure what exactly the first recipe was like, but then my Mom is not known for tweaking recipes, and I got the recipe from her. This might be the only recipe I ever got from her. 1 tablespoon orange zest. 1/4 cup orange juice. 1 teaspoon baking powder. 1/2 teaspoon baking soda. 1/4 tsp freshly grated nutmeg (new addition to the recipe).
