A brief summary of MCRD. It is hard to believe that my oldest son is a Marine! It has been a roller coaster ride of emotions. He left the 18th of October for MCRD (Marine Corps Recruit Depot) in San Diego. He called that evening from the USO to let us know he made it safely. We didn't hear from him again until October 28th.his 19th birthday. We received two letters from him that day.mail being our main means of communication for the next 13 weeks! He was well and looking forward to the next few weeks!
