Monday, April 30, 2012. Elise Will Call the Shots. When we arrived today, unexpected to us, Elise was not acting like herself. She was pale, fighting to breathe, and dropping her oxygen from the 90s (where she needs to be) down to the 40s (not good). The nurse informed us she was watching Elise extra closely today because of her off behavior and that Dr. Pyle had been notified during his examination. Elise had just taken the slight step backwards to Vapotherm Friday night, so why is she looking weaker?

Tuesday, May 29, 2012. Adjusting to Our New Normal. We've been home with Elise for five days now and soaking up all the joys (and nerves) fresh parenthood brings to two newbies! We usually have to wake Elise out of a deep sleep and then it takes a while for her to wake up enough to take the bottle. Friday, March 30, 2012. Celebrating with a Realistic Frame of Mind. We had a wonderful day in the NICU yesterday! I must say, I wasn't looking forward to the 'gown and glove' policy. More than anything, I was worried with how it might make me feel. Wednesday, June 20, 2012. The Preemie Catch Up Game. When I first looked at the weight and height chart for Elise, Dr. Kleber was right. I cringed slightly. My poor girl had the have the chart extended downward just so she would make a 'point.' However, the more thought I put into it, the more understanding I gained (funny how that works? Our Life

Monday, June 18, 2012. We wish that we were able to go home this summer but being that I went on bed rest with the last one my doctor advised me not to travel. It has been such a long time since we were last home that we are all homesick. I hope to do better about keeping you all up to date. Jan- Brody turned 4.
