Tuesday, July 25, 2006. Nope, this is not a column on running. It’s about this great old building we visited this weekend. One of Chris’s friends was part of a one-night art exhibit. Most of the art was very intersting some of it beautiful and some of it really fun and whimsical. But I was just as amazed by the building it was held in. It's part of a group of buildings called Marathon Village. Sometimes I’m so pleasantly surprised by the little things in Nashville that I just didn’t know existed. If you'...

Thursday, August 31, 2006. I have indeed found the right amount of in-between laciness for my stole. The stitch pattern is from Barbara G. Walker’s Treasury of Knitting Patterns. It had plenty of good options to choose from, and one called Traveling Vines seems just perfect. I’ve finished one full repeat and a few rows of the second, and I can say with relative confidence that I want to stick with this pattern. Posted by Katie at 1:22 PM. Tuesday, August 29, 2006. Monday, June 26, 2006. New Knitter Gettin' the Bug. I taught my friend Shelley how to knit last week, and she's steadily stitching along on a baby blanket for her neice. She's doing very well, really, and I like that I have someone new I can yammer to about all the things I've learned, all the things I think. On my knitting front, I've started the Angelina. Cardigan that will hopefully look something like this when finished (the bottom picture in white). Posted by Katie at 6:19 PM. I am a blogger. Actual...

Friday, April 28, 2006. Still Find Myself Chuckling . . . When I think about last night’s book signing with Stephanie. I’d been reading her blog for a while now and almost felt like I knew her (in that slight Internet-obsession sort of way), but I was really surprised to hear her speak. Y’all, she is very funny in print, but in person she was absolutely HI-LARIOUS. Threaded Bliss was pretty well packed. Two finished discloths, one stinkin' funny book. Posted by Katie at 10:29 AM. Wednesday, May 31, 2006. Feels Good to Get Spoiled a Little. Today is my birthday, so my coworkers all brought cards and party food to work. It’s our normal birthday routine that we do for everybody, but it still makes me feel special when it’s for me. I think maybe that’s the four-year-old in me. I’ve also gotten lots of great well-wishes from other friends and family too. Thanks, y'all. Chris is taking me to Mambu tonight for my birthday dinner, so I have the chance to get all girly and gussied up!

Tuesday, October 31, 2006. Test 2: Computer Architecture. I don't have much time to post, but today's test went well. It was very hard, but straightforward. I can stand hard, just not leftfield hard. Everyone took the full 3 hours to finish the test, but we all felt good about how we did. Work decided to go retarded on me this week. As soon as I finished the test, I had to do work until past 6:00 despite the fact that tomorrow's test could be the hardest of the 5: Algorithms. I'll let you guys know.

Tuesday, March 21, 2006. Welcome to the World! Well, the newest member of our family was born yesterday and is doing very well. I can't wait until next month when Chris and I get to meet both Baby Grace and Baby Cole! Until then Grammie promises me that she'll give the babies extra snuggles from their Aunt Katie. Posted by Katie at 6:20 PM. Just in Time for Summer to Come . . . It just needs to be felted and it'll be ready to use. The felting process will require the use of hot water. Seems a Bit Familiar.

Thursday, February 23, 2006. Knit furiously, fingers flying. Rip furiously, yarn flying. Repeat at least four times. So maybe I'll finish it by the end of the Olympics and maybe I won't. Oh, well. I will still finish it sometime! Posted by Katie at 5:52 PM. Monday, February 20, 2006. The sleeving is begun. I haven't quite finished the body, but I'm waiting to see how much yarn the sleeves will take up, and then I'll know how much I have left to finish the body. Posted by Katie at 5:27 PM. Tuesday, June 27, 2006. We have officially relocated. I plan on using this site for my new blog. I'm tired of having to worry about comment spam. I'm tired of making you say that "Im a pretty girl". I'm tired of paying to have a blog. I'm tired of being worried about wether I have used up my site bandwidth. I know I will be loosing my archives, but I actually think this is the right decision. I will try to figure out how to import my existing posts. Posted by John W. Burris at 1:48 PM. Links to this post.
