MOM - Not Otherwise Specified: A beautiful day in the neighborhood
http://momnos.blogspot.com/2015/08/a-beautiful-day-in-neighborhood.html
MOM - Not Otherwise Specified. On raising a son on the autism spectrum, progressive politics, pop culture, and coffee addiction. Friday, August 07, 2015. A beautiful day in the neighborhood. Despite that, he was insistent - he wanted to wear a tuxedo. We compromised on a short sleeve dress shirt with a tuxedo vest and bow tie. He added a top hat to complete the ensemble. But that was all the prep he seemed interested in doing, so I didn't push it and I waited to see how things would unfold. I explained t...

MOM - Not Otherwise Specified. On raising a son on the autism spectrum, progressive politics, pop culture, and coffee addiction. Monday, August 03, 2015. For Jess, 'cause she's awesome. I recently found myself in a conversation about the ethics of restricting toys, books, tv shows, and other things from autistic kids (or, really, any kids) (or, really, any people) because they are not "age appropriate.". Asked her if she had something in the archives that I'd missed. Please click here to read it. We need...

MOM - Not Otherwise Specified. On raising a son on the autism spectrum, progressive politics, pop culture, and coffee addiction. Saturday, March 13, 2010. A hair-dryer kid in a toaster-brained world. Okay, so: the presentation. First, I should tell you that we orchestrated it with the stealth of CIA operatives. We didn't want Bud to see me in the building, because we knew that my presence would be difficult for him. I started by thanking them for inviting me to their class. "I hope you know," I said,...

MOM - Not Otherwise Specified. On raising a son on the autism spectrum, progressive politics, pop culture, and coffee addiction. Saturday, May 14, 2016. Anger, acceptance, and the space between. It has been just over two weeks since we got the news that our dear friend Henry. Died He was at home, in his room, with his family. It was peaceful, and just as it should have been - though, of course, it was not at all as it should have been. His mom, Gretchen, posted the news with this beautiful graphic:.

Sunday, August 30, 2009. A Home Run Day! And all the noise. On the way over J expressed an intense wish he had - that we would do the wave. He got his wish! C wanted to catch a fly ball - one came very close but no luck today. He handled the disappointment like a champ (NEVER would have been able to say that a year or two ago). All in all an awesome day to round out an amazing week for our family. Links to this post. Friday, August 07, 2009. Links to this post. Wednesday, August 05, 2009. A Home Run Day!

I hope that you and your family are enjoying a wonderful Easter. Godzilla vs. Rodan. Apr 08, 2012. Happy Easter to you, too. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. A diary of a mom.

April 11, 2012. Exhale - Three Years. So it's our third year anniversary. We made it this far! I love you so much Aaron! I'm not sure if I ever went into many details about our wedding for my readers. There isn't too much to share because I was NOT a crafter, and well things always had a way of flopping for me. Still had the best wedding I've ever had! One thing that made our ceremony so special for both myself and Aaron is that we wrote our own vows. I still have mine though:. I held my breath. Breathle...

Feel overall quite disconnected from people my age, especially women. I don’t know all the reasons why that is. These days, it’s pretty obvious why it feels that way.
