Die Psychomotorik beruht auf dem Verständnis, dass Wahrnehmung, Bewegung und (psychisches) Erleben eine Einheit bilden. Sie hat das Ziel eine erweiterte Handlungskompetenz des Kindes, auf der Grundlage eines positiven Erlebens der eigenen Fähigkeiten, in der Auseinandersetzung mit dem eigenen Körper, dem Material und dem Anderen (Spielgefährten) zu erreichen. In Psychomotorikgruppen können die Kinder ihren natürlichen Bewegungsdrang ausleben. Und werden zudem in ihrer Sozialkompetenz gestärkt.
