It was Thanksgiving, we were having houseful of people over and she decided to put signage over the kitchen entry. The sign was supposed to say “Mom’s Kitchen”, she wrote each letter on a separate piece of paper and carefully handed it up to her father to tape to the wall. Posted by admin in Uncategorized.

December 7th, 2010. 4 Quarts dechlorinated water (to dechlorinate city water let stand in an open container for 24 hours). 1 Cup Kosher Salt. 8 lbs of meat to pickle (Brisket, Beef Tongue, …). 12 Garlic Cloves, Cracked. 3 Tbs Pickling Spices. After the meat has been brined, rinse the meat and dump the brine and cook. After brining a brisket and rinsing it, fill a pot with cold water, add 3 Tbs Pickling spices and boil the meat until tender.

The batter itself is thick before baking and just yum. 2 cups diced apples. 1 1/2 cup unsifted flour. 1 tsp baking powder. 1 tsp baking soda. 1/2 cup raisins (OPTIONAL). 1 Combine apples and sugar, let stand 10 minutes. 2 Blend oil and eggs into apple mixture, combine dry ingredients, mix all ingredients together. Preheat the oven to 350. Quickly wash and drain the lentils. Laquo; Banana Bread.
