Wednesday, February 22, 2012. I grew up Baptist. That's all I've ever known. And if someone had ever told me I'd be observing Lent someday I would have laughed. Doesn't everyone know that's a Catholic holiday? Yet I feel drawn to this time of repentance and reflection. What can I sacrifice to grow closer to Christ? Has shared some lovely scripture memorization cards for this and a plan that takes the rest of the calendar year. I hope to memorize it a bit quicker, but we'll see. :). A Time For Testing.

Monday, August 6, 2012. Camping's For the Birds! Well, we finally did it. The hubby and I braved the woods with our little crew of munchkins. Thanks to an extremely kind friend we were lucky enough to have a camper to use. We were also lucky enough to get to go with some good friends we met at co-op last year. So. . . Here are recipes for the various dishes that I mention in my posts:. Sour Cream Chocolate Cake. German Chocolate Creamcheese Cake. Pumpkin Apple Breakfast Cake. 2 c all-purpose flour. 1/4 c brown sugar. 2 tsp baking powder. 1 tsp baking soda. 1 1/2 c. milk. 1 c pumpkin puree. 2 tbls vegetable oil. Combine dry ingredients in a large bowl. In a separate bowl combine wet ingredients. Stir wet ingredients into dry ingredients. Top with whipped cream and maple syrup! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Saturday, September 20, 2014. Canning Adventures/Back to School. Many years ago, in high school, I was in our Future Homemakers of America club. In fact, my junior year I was the president. At the time I found that pretty amusing because I was quite sure I'd never actually BE a homemaker. We still have some peaches waiting to be canned, but I've done about 48 quarts of peaches, pears, and spiced pears so far. September 26, 2014 at 9:34 AM.
