Saturday, January 21, 2012. More ice and no power. Thursday evening our power went out just as we were sitting down to dinner. Since we had just seen the sky light up with an eerie blue glow as the transformers blew, this was no surprise. We enjoyed our warm dinner, read stories in front of the fire, and slept with extra quilts on the beds. Friday was cool, but bearable, with the fireplace on. Thank goodness for a gas water heater! Shelton Family: Landscaping complete

Sunday, June 3, 2012. We started last August with overgrown bushes and trees that blocked the light. Now in June we are finally. Finished with the front yard! Lots of rain and lack of evening and weekend hours over the winter held us back. Todd did most of the work by himself, digging a good foundation for the walls he built, moving sprinkler pipe, sifting out the large rocks, and creating a marvelous proposal for the homeowner's association asking to install a waterfall and pond- which was denied.

Friday, May 11, 2012. We visited Northwest Trek Wildlife Park near Mt. Rainier. The animals were tricky to find, but we enjoyed the hunt and the center where the kids could touch and try things. How do my children not know and love one of my favorite comfort foods? Oh, that's right. It's one of my favorite comfort foods, especially when made with A&W. Monday, September 26, 2011. First day of Preschool. Today was the first day of preschool for Bethany and Breydon. They were so. Excited and have been asking for weeks when they would start school. I was surprised to be hit with emotions as I walked out of the building. Sniff. How did my babies get so big and independent? My mind is at ease that they will work hard to keep him safe.
