Blogging about homeschooling and Down syndrome. Friday, May 29, 2009. Jesse had an appointment to see how his thyroid meds are working and I'm glad to say they are working great! Blogging about homeschooling and Down syndrome. Wednesday, April 17, 2013. Just a quick update from the Baker homefront. Jesse and I are doing amazing! Life has thrown us some serious curve balls the past few years, but we came out on top. I plan to start blogging regularly again to share our journey in homeschooling and just share all things Jesse. I mean come on who can get enough of this kid? I sure can't. He's great! Anyway, I'm back and hoping to try to do at least 1 new blog every week.

Daddy surprised him with a new sandbox and lots of toys to play with. We had a small party on Saturday with a big dinosaur birthday cake. Hey, it's my piece of paradise. When you realize you are old…. A few years later, it was the ankle’s turn. Quite literally. Same limb, different joint. New boot. And now a SCOOTER! The grandkids loved it. Nana had wheels! My current task is dealing with the arthritic back and a few big words that describe what is causing me so much pain when I walk. Are you just aging? Or are you pressing on toward the prize? Philippians 3:12-14 (J.B. Phillips). But I do concentrate on this: I leave the past behind.
The Next Chapter
I was inspired to start a blog by a friend of mine who is also a young mom that started life over in a new state shortly after having her first baby. I'm thinking of this time in my life as the next chapter in a very long life story.hence, the blog title. Monday, February 07, 2011. So, after my 8-month break from writing, I'm checking in! I finished my year at the middle school where I was trying to shape the young pre-teen minds of Memphis. Nothing left to say about that. Here's to yet another chapter.
