The Connelly Chronicles: Lorelei & Gryffin's Baptism
http://theconnellychronicles.blogspot.com/2014/12/lorelei-gryffins-baptism.html
Sunday, December 28, 2014. Lorelei and Gryffin's Baptism. Today Gryffin and Lorelei were baptized into the family of God. Cousin Kai and Gryffin. Our neighbor Ava and Lorelei. Mrs Smith, Gryffin's 1st grade teacher (who happens to attend our church, RezDowntown). How special is it that she got to be there? Gryffin wanted to set the date around whether she could attend, he loves her so much! After the baptism, they are anointed with a cross of oil on their forehead. Then Pastor Scott walked them down the ...

Tuesday, November 5, 2013. Halloween was on the haunt as quickly as ever. Gryffy wanted to be Luke Skywalker, and Lorelei saw this cat costume at Party City she couldn't live without. Grammy took them shopping, and voila- costumes, check! Our annual neighborhood Halloween parade and carnival was a hit! I'm not usually a germ freak, except when it comes to things that touch people's mouths. I made sure we were among the very first to bob for apples. Gryffy and Dylan rockin' their costumes on the big rocks.

Wednesday, August 28, 2013. Kindergarten and Second Grade! How could I ever begin to communicate how much I love these kids? It is impossible to find words deep enough, profound enough. These are God's treasures, my Lorelei and Gryffin. And I'm gushing over with such pride to watch them begin a new school year: second grade and kindergarten! That Backpack Fairy has some major fans in the Connelly household. The Garbage Pail Kids were a huge hit! So were the books and Angry Birds pencils. There are TEN ki...

Saturday, June 29, 2013. Scandinavia, Part Three: Oslo, Norway. After several charmed days in rural Denmark, we took an overnight ferry from Copenhagen to Oslo en route to the fjords. We only had a brief part of two days to spend here, so we were all about what the kids wanted to see: viking ships. Here are the kids in front of Town Hall with its famous clock. Our ferry from Copenhagen to Oslo. Slaying the tiger at Central Station. The kids modeled viking gear. I love the carved doors. This was a stave c...

Monday, October 21, 2013. Sometimes, the little things sift through my memory like water through cupped hands. I wish I was better at capturing them:. The sheer delight in discovering that the Harvest Fairy has indeed visited the new fairy house Lorelei had painted and dutifully decorated with flowers for her. She'd been waiting a solid two weeks for that note in tiny fairy scribble. The way Lulu names her stuffed animals, her favorite name of choice at the moment being "Foglight.". Walk In the Sunshine.

Monday, March 24, 2014. Does someone look a wee bit excited that it's her birthday? Lulu invited all the girls in her class over for her birthday party. It was a pajama party/slumber party this year, which was a first for many. Lulu was on cloud nine. There were lots of pillow fights on the trampoline. Loads of arts and crafts, including some Melissa and Doug crafts Grammy picked up from the store, and these fun pillows. These girls are so creative. Best of buds: Lauryn, Margaret and Lorelei. 1) Lorelei'...

Wednesday, January 1, 2014. Donuts on Strings 2014. We say goodbye to 2013, which holds so many fond memories, and look with anticipation toward a great year to come. We celebrated with poppers, a fondue dinner, some bunny chasing in the backyard (Tibbles got loose again) and our traditional Just Dance party. The kids set up a fort and slept in the family room. Lorelei and I did the midnight countdown (Eastern time zone). Mr. G was out. And New Year's morning, we had donuts on a string.

Friday, April 26, 2013. This One's for the Girls 2013. On Wednesday night, we celebrated our second annual "This One's for the Girls" (a.k.a. "Princess Power Training") spa night at Heartland. I wanted to begin a program like this for Lorelei, because I know we have got to be deliberate as mothers in teaching our daughters the truth about who they are and what defines their beauty. More about its beginnings HERE. Sutton's mommy was helping out, so she got some special Tia kisses before the event too.

Sunday, July 21, 2013. Scandinavia, Part 7: Mom and the Kids venture to Estonia. Normally the idea of traveling. To a foreign, non-English speaking country. With no cell phone. And two nights on a ship crossing the Baltic Sea. With a lot of inebriated passengers speaking loud Russian/Estonian/Finnish? Would possibly frighten me. But we were feeling a little crazy-brave. The kids thought the name of the entry point to medieval Tallinn, Fat Margaret's Tower, was hilarious. There it is behind them. The Brot...
