So seeing that different sources differ on how long expressed milk last I did some research and found that it all depends on the temperature at which it is stored. Here is the guidelines:. Preferably, human milk should be refrigerated or chilled right after it is expressed. Acceptable guidelines for storing human milk are as follows. At room temperature (19-25 C) for 4 hours. Temperatures greater than 25 C may not be safe for room temperature storage. In an insulated cooler bag with ice packs for 24 hours.
