Alexandria: Election Time
http://maemciver.blogspot.com/2010/12/election-time.html
Friday, December 10, 2010. Its election time in Egypt and you know what that means. well it seems to mean election rigging, low voter turnout and a landslide victory for the ruling party, the National Democratic Party. Here is a good summary of the current climate in Egypt post elections: http:/ frontpagemag.com/2010/12/02/egypts-electoral-unrest/. Okay so my experience through this whole thing:. That would be insane! But really I don't expect to see any revolutions. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Taking this shit global. Thursday, February 25, 2010. I'm working myself up to an actual post, and to get you all nice and excited for that, here are some pictures of what I've been up to! Beautiful Views from Temple of Philae. Cruising on the Nile. Awkward faces at a birthday ball. That is all for now. This weekend I have to write 2400 words IN ARABIC on the US financial crisis, effects, and solutions. I barely understand that stuff in English. So, fun times? Monday, February 22, 2010. And for all this,...

Dance Party International!: May 2009
http://thisisfurious.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html
Taking this shit global. Saturday, May 30, 2009. Tuesday, May 12, 2009. So things are super crazy, etc etc, but here is one good thing: yesterday I went to the gym, and then I had dinner and watched Gossip Girl with Sireesha (which featured Lilly flashbacks and totally 80s dance parties), and then we met Emily at Trudy's, and Emily and I both had delicious mexican martinis, which are far more ridiculous than I initially thought! I am trying to make myself go to work today? And get some shit done? So, not...

Taking this shit global. Wednesday, December 9, 2009. Ok this has very little to do with Egypt or anything, but it is very exciting nonetheless and sort of relevant since yesterday I actually did a terrible presentation in my colloquial Arabic class on organic farming! Right, without further ado.my first job/favorite job/favorite organic farm/source of the tastiest things has a website. Go look at the pictures! I will be so festive! Oh man, I am so excited! Sunday, December 6, 2009. So, last month was No...

Alexandria: The Day of Anger
http://maemciver.blogspot.com/2011/01/day-of-anger.html
Sunday, January 30, 2011. The Day of Anger. Since the president of Tunisia left Egyptians have been calling for their own revolution, or at least protests. Tunisia showed the Arab world that a government has only as much power as the people allow it to have, and Egyptians have allowed their government to oppress them for far too long. January 31, 2011 at 10:33 AM. This is Katie Peters, your cousin. :-) I just found this, and I wanted to thank you for it! Ill be following along here, now. :-). Besides eat...
