Is this what it is?: The Great Fruit Fly Massacre of 2009
http://marjorieeeee.blogspot.com/2009/10/great-fruit-fly-massacre-of-2009.html
Is this what it is? Monday, October 12, 2009. The Great Fruit Fly Massacre of 2009. But I came home today and they had taken over. The fruit flies. I had a few earlier in the summer, so I did some internet research then, but there are a lot more now. Something about doing nothing but working and sleeping for three days, and weeks of partially completed cans of soda lying around. So most of my day today was spent on the attack. Is this what it is?: Olympic Update
http://marjorieeeee.blogspot.com/2009/10/olympic-update.html
Is this what it is? Thursday, October 1, 2009. Tonight I booked my travel arrangements for Vancouver 2010. Yay! Amtrak to Vancouver $43. Flight to Victoria $205. One Night in a Travelodge $101. Ferry to Anacortes $15-20 (I forget how much, but a pretty cheap option). Bus to Mount Vernon $1.50? Bus to Everett $2. So much less than the alternative options (ticket hotel packages $3000; cheapest hotel available in Vancouver that night $700). But pretty weird. I'm going to the Olympics!

Walton World: Thoughts of an expectant father
http://waltonworld.blogspot.com/2010/01/thoughts-of-expectant-father.html
Wednesday, January 27, 2010. Thoughts of an expectant father. Last night while getting ready to brush my teeth, Dave was watching me and here is how the conversation went. Your belly is getting BIG! Stacie - Yeah, I know, plus I gained 3 pounds in the last two weeks. Dave - Well, isn't it normal to gain, like, 10 pounds a week. Stacie - DAVE.that would be 400 pounds! Dave - (laughing) I meant during the last few weeks. Gee thanks Stacie, i have totally gained 10 lbs in one week!

My Heart: Privatization of Social Security
http://jimphilheart.blogspot.com/2015/04/privatization-of-social-security.html
Thursday, April 9, 2015. Privatization of Social Security. OK, this is going to be a borderline rant. Grab on and hold on to something, it may be a wild ride. The Wall Street gang isn't worried about whether the trust funds will be invested at a profit or a loss (see the housing bubble crash of 2008), as long as the money goes through their hands they can rake in a fortune. My Heart: Corregidor, Fourth of July 2013
http://jimphilheart.blogspot.com/2013/07/corregidor-fourth-of-july-2013.html
Saturday, July 6, 2013. Corregidor, Fourth of July 2013. We took a Fourth of July trip to Corregidor Island. Corregidor is a fairly small island set in the middle of the entry to Manila Bay, about 26 miles from Manila and about 3 miles off the coast of the Bataan Peninsula. It was the scene of terrible fighting and a grim siege at the beginning of World War II. It seemed like an appropriate place to commemorate the Fourth of July. The Filipino Guerrilla Fighter. The Goddess of Peace. One of the many side...

My Heart: June 2013

Saturday, June 15, 2013. Visiting Japan-Day Four-The Gardens. The umbrella was not for any rain! The gardens were so well kept and beautifully organized, it was amazing, and the variety of flowers was just dizzying. A little glimpse of how they organize the gardens. You can see on the bare ground that there are chalk lines laid out, with a designated area for each kind or color of bloom. There were workers planting in this area as we strolled the grounds. The greenhouse had flowers besides begonias, too.

My Heart: August 2012

Sunday, August 5, 2012. Thai Vacation, Part V-Buddha. Not much to write in this entry, just an assortment of pictures of statues of the Buddha from some of the different temples in and around Chiang Mai. Fascinating in their variety and often very beautiful. My favorite is the green one. The material is glass, but our guide said it was a copy of a statue in Bangkok, and the original is made of emerald. I'd love to see that. Saturday's image of the Buddha. The Buddha Seated under a Naga (Seven Headed ...

My Heart: December 2012
http://jimphilheart.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html
Monday, December 3, 2012. Palawan Vacation, Part V, Flora. I did a post of wildlife, so now flowers and plants. This is such a beautiful place, I hope these pictures capture a little bit of that beauty. This was taken from the patio in the back of our hotel room. As we exited the underground river. I can't tell you anything about these flowers, except that they're beautiful. Palawan Vacation, Part IV-The Entrance to the Cavern. Mexica on the river bank. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
