A Couple of Yardbirds: Necrotizing Fasciitis
http://acoupleofyardbirds.blogspot.com/2015/05/necrotizing-fasciitis.html
Wednesday, May 27, 2015. It had been a while since we had taken a family trip together and Mr. Yardbird and I decided that our best bet would be a family beach trip. We loaded ourselves up and we planned a super long two week trip. I found a place close enough to the beach that we could walk there, though we soon realized that it was much easier with two kids to drive. Oh yes, and our kids. By the time we arranged everything on the beach and took the 9 hundred trips to and from the car, we were maxed out.

A Couple of Yardbirds: Dear Hammy - 3 years old Part 4
http://acoupleofyardbirds.blogspot.com/2015/03/dear-hammy-3-years-old-part-4_20.html
Friday, March 20, 2015. Dear Hammy - 3 years old Part 4. April - May - - Month 3. You had a pretty eventful month before your sister arrived. We packed in a trip to the country, had friends over and had a lot of last moments with you being the only child. Let's take a look.. You caught your first fish on your own and reeled it in. You really didn't want anything to do with pulling the hook out. You wore Pap-paw out with all of your 4-wheel riding. You photo-bombed some of my pregnancy pictures! I use th...

A Couple of Yardbirds: Kemah
http://acoupleofyardbirds.blogspot.com/2014/11/kemah.html
Thursday, November 13, 2014. Last weekend, Mr. Yardbird and I took the kids to Kemah boardwalk for a mini-vacation. We had not stayed in a hotel together since we practically lived in one for a year when Jason worked in Beaumont. It brought back all of our hotel memories including the smell of complimentary breakfast in the morning, watered down coffee, and Ham's love for the hotel luggage cart (which he likes to call the "rectangle thing with the two H's"). We took turns riding rides with Ham. Ham and I...

A Couple of Yardbirds: Bugs
http://acoupleofyardbirds.blogspot.com/2013/07/bugs.html
Saturday, July 27, 2013. Have you ever navigated the zoo, the Aquarium or what not with a 2 year old? Did you lose your sanity? I think those places are designed for that. Today we navigated the Bug Zoo with not one, but two 2 year olds. I'm not sure how but I somehow managed to talk both my brother (and his kid) and Mr. Yardbird into that today. It wasn't all that bad. Did I say meander? Sometimes, we remarkably found each other in the middle of the museum and traded off kids to chase around. "You g...

A Couple of Yardbirds: Family Portrait
http://acoupleofyardbirds.blogspot.com/2014/07/family-portrait.html
Friday, July 4, 2014. A few days ago we attempted to take a family picture. I just knew it was a better idea for me to do it, rather than hire someone. First, there was the matching outfits. You know how everyone attempts to coordinate the colors. As an artist I should know how to do this. However, I spent most of my time circling Target with multiple shirts and outfits in my hands, scratching my head and wondering what the heck I was doing. Timing - Do you do it before or after naptime? When I find him,...

A Couple of Yardbirds: Home Depot
http://acoupleofyardbirds.blogspot.com/2014/07/home-depot.html
Friday, July 18, 2014. Yesterday, the weather seemed a little cooler and by cooler I mean 89 degrees. So I decided to take the kids to Home Depot. We were just coming out of a 5 day incubation period after a nasty virus and we were all a little stir crazy. I wish I could say the virus was all smiles like this. But instead it was more like this. By the time it was over, we were all wiped out. And I couldn't think of anything that would make us all feel better than planting more flowers. I grabbed two herb...

A Couple of Yardbirds: Taking Orders
http://acoupleofyardbirds.blogspot.com/2014/07/taking-orders.html
Wednesday, July 9, 2014. Every night before bed, I read three books to Ham. I'm always thankful if he doesn't insist on reading the "food" book or the truck book. There's only so many times we can pretend to eat every food that shows up on the page or talk about what an exhaust does. But no matter what book we end up reading that night, we bust out the magnet writing board to draw shapes. I was a little surprised when Ham said this, "Can I take your order? Do you want chicken or fruit? I'll be right back!

A Couple of Yardbirds: Pop's Commentary

Known for his wit and humor, my pops never fails to deliver the clever one-line puns. This seems like a great place to record them. And she comes with full refrigerator privileges. The final offer to seal the deal.". Nothing has changed. This is the same exact look they'd give me when they would hide the remote.".
