Little's Law: The "V" Word
http://littleslaw.blogspot.com/2011/08/v-word.html
Thursday, August 11, 2011. For health reasons I have been on a very low gluten/low dairy diet. Initially when I started, I - like many others - was put off by the word "vegan". Something about that word didn't sit well with me. I wanted no part of it. So, I set off on a quest to create my own version of the gluten-free dairy-free diet. In doing so however, I realized something. Something profound. Nowhere in those recipes did I find a food item that I didn't already eat. Peanut Butter is Vegan. Subscribe...

Little's Law: Last Man Standing
http://littleslaw.blogspot.com/2009/10/last-man-standing.html
Friday, October 9, 2009. Over the years I've watched my dog Gally. Run down the list of dog haters, non-believers I like to call them, and turn them each into cooing, petting, food sharing hypocrites. I know what you're thinking. "EVERYONE thinks their dog is the best dog in the world.". As she currently resides in Los Angeles. Because "back in Guyana dogs are not pets. They guard the property. They rummage through garbage for food. And under NO circumstances are they allowed inside of the home.". I even...

Little's Law: Elephant In The Room
http://littleslaw.blogspot.com/2009/10/elephant-in-room.html
Sunday, October 4, 2009. Elephant In The Room. No one wants to talk about the elephant in the room." Oh? Let's imagine you're at a party. You're enjoying a few drinks, chatting with folks , exchanging witty anecdotes. Suddenly out of the corner of your eye, you spot. could it be? An elephant. For argument's sake, we are also imagining that this is a very large and very crowded room where you wouldn't have noticed the 10 ft 10,000 lb animal when you initially walked in. Fictional Friend #1: I see it.

Little's Law: Will the real photographer please stand up...
http://littleslaw.blogspot.com/2010/09/will-real-photographer-please-stand-up.html
Thursday, September 16, 2010. Will the real photographer please stand up. Recently I've become obsessed with photography. I bought a fancy DSLR, upgraded the lens, read some photography blogs, watched a few videos. Two months later, I've deemed myself a professional, toting my little camera bag around with me to every function and snapping "professional" quality shots of everything from the guests to the lemonade dispenser to the family dog. Good Who is this guy? Like for a living? I wasn't until a week ...

Little's Law: Pay Anything
http://littleslaw.blogspot.com/2010/02/pay-anything.html
Friday, February 5, 2010. I sat my dad down and delivered my business proposal, rather eloquently I felt. Me: What do you think? Dad: I think I'm not paying you to get good grades. Dad: Because I'm already paying for the roof over your head, your food, your clothes, soccer, piano lessons. And if you can't get good grades with everything your mother and I give you then that means you don't have enough time and we need to start taking away some of your extra activities. Is that what I need to do? I don't k...

Little's Law: Durham... [Temporary] Home to the Stars
http://littleslaw.blogspot.com/2009/04/downtown-durham-temporary-home-to-stars.html
Tuesday, April 21, 2009. Durham. [Temporary] Home to the Stars. Last Thursday, my friends KL and LH took me out for a belated birthday dinner. On the way to the restaurant, I asked, "Where are we going? My friend KL answered. "Its a surprise.". KL says, "Pops! Have you ever been there? Yes, on Monday. for my birthday dinner.". On the walk back to the car we played the game, "Who do you see in your cabin in a horror film? KL, I would swear that man sitting over there is Colin Firth.". LH leans in from acr...

Little's Law: Halloween and the Facts of Life
http://littleslaw.blogspot.com/2012/10/halloween-and-facts-of-life.html
Wednesday, October 31, 2012. Halloween and the Facts of Life. Every Halloween I look forward to handing out candy to the little ones. Why? Because I want these kids to look back fondly on their Halloween days as I do and remember the night they lived like kings, with more candy than they could possibly know what to do with. What a great tradition. For one night and one night only, it is not just okay to take candy from strangers, but celebrated. I dropped a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup into the kid's bag.

An American Enjoys Life on the Fair Island of Taiwan. Archive for December, 2009. On December 7, 2009 3 Comments. Last Year in Hong Kong:. About a year ago, I had an epiphany. Over the 2009 Chinese New Year, I joined a couple of full-time Hong Kong University students at this great hookah bar in Hong Kong named, Sahara. The conversation moved effortlessly from English to Cantonese to French to Japanese to Mandarin ⦠to who knows what else? My promise to myself last year is coming true. Iām here...Today, ...

Korean zucchini pancakes ā hobak jeon! | Kitchenwench
http://www.insanitytheory.net/kitchenwench/hobak-jeon
Feeding friends and family, one recipe at a time. What happened to Kitchen Wench? Dips, Dressings, Sauces and Spreads. Rice, Noodles, Pasta and Grains. Stews, Soups and Salads. Korean zucchini pancakes ā hobak jeon! Could someone please tell me where the year has gone? I stared at the calendar at work today in complete and utter disbelief. Are we really already almost at the end of May? Both my sister and brother are due to finish their university degrees in the next month. That was an expensive lesson!
