Cadwell Park 18 April 2015 Round 1. Classic, 1800 and DTec. So after what seemed to be the longest winter ever, round 1 is finally here. The devoted Monoposti started to land on Thursday evening with the rest descending on Friday. With a good weather forecast and the cars beautifully turned out over 3 large grids, the atmosphere was full of excitement and anticipation. By Avit on Friday - ed). Fantastic, exciting first race of the season from start to finish for, I’m sure, drivers and spectators.

Cadwell Park 19 April 2015 Round 2. Classic, 1800 and DTec. After a great start to the season the atmosphere in the paddock on Sunday morning had a little less sparkle to it as the news spread that Peter Venn and his team had left the circuit due to the fact Peter was sick to the stomach after having his vehicle broken into and wallet, cards and passport stolen whilst he was on track, for the second time in recent years. The beautiful car looked wrecked and luckily Lou was shaken but perfectly fine and h...

26 July 2015 Round 8 2000 and Classic. The weather Gods have a sense of humour, as they decreed that Sunday would be dry qualifying, which meant that the dry formbook could be used, and very accurate it was with Daryl Jones on pole, 1.2 seconds ahead of Robbie Watts who edged out Tony Bishop. Daneil Hands and Neil Harrison filled the next couple of slots, in front of Shane The Rain Kelly. Just to ensure symmetry, it was raining for. James Williams may have qualified at the back of the grid, but lap by la...

At Cadwell, in 2 of the 3 briefings (I attended all three), the clerk gave a particularly good explanation of why it was in everyone’s interests for competitors to close right up to the ‘crocodile’ if a safety car came out. Reduce speed but all bunch up quickly, he said. As a result there was no choice but to ‘throw a red flag’ . however this was completely unnecessary if Mono had cooperated. Please be aware this will be the topic of future drivers briefings. Section Q4.9 and Q Appendix 2. BMW 4 series o...

25 July 2015 Round 7 Moto, Dtec, 1800, 1600. The wet weather led to a number of spins, and a red flag shortened the session after a lap. As somebody said, Snetterton is unique in its complete absence of grip when wet. There were a few anomalies, with Dan Levy at the back having recorded no laps. 26 July 2015 Round 8 Moto, Dtec, 1800, 1600. After a very wet Saturday it was a very pleasant start to the day Sunday and everyone had an opportunity to dust off the slicks that had been put away for the previous day. Unfortunately the rain started about 2 hours before the afternoon race so at least the decision was an easy one as regards tyres! As it happened the rain had almost stopped as we made our way to the assembly area but everything was well and truly soaked by then.

Cadwell Park 19 April 2015 Round 2. Since this report's a bit late and the seat of a 1600 is less than ideal to report a Moto race from, it will be brief. I collected the bits and using Paddock Composite (tank tape, cardboard and pop rivets) had a usable nose for the race. Jeremy Timms broke a chain in the Dallara but fortunately it was fixed. At a recent meeting of the directors it was determined that the regulations will be clarified to confirm the long standing intention that motor cycle engines will be eligible only in the Mono Moto class and therefore all other classes must use car-derived engines. Cadwell Park 18 April 2015 Round 1. The long winter is over. Somnambulent steps lead us to the rolling Wolds of Lincolnshire, where the bucking blacktop of Cadwell Park beguilingly beckons Monoposto's seasonal awakening. Tony Bishop had been circulatig in a lonely 5th, well separated from 4th and 6th, but his smooth consistency was rewarded with 4th place. Malcolm Scott followed him in 5 seconds behind, while the next man up was Shane Kelly, first non-Dallara in the Wolverhampton University Renault.

Chairman of the Technical Committee Russ Giles outlines the technical decisions taken at a recent board meeting. There were a number of technical and class changes confirmed that we wish to share with the membership as soon as possible. The 2 Litre cars will be split in to 3 classes rather than the existing 2. Names of these classes need to be confirmed but are summarised below. Classic - Pre 93 only, including all FVL's. New class - Post 92 non F3 cars and F3 cars 93 to 96.
