Click Here for the latest news on 'Pacific Rim'! Goodbye to the Great Raymond Cusick. Raymond Cusick, the designer of the original Daleks, has passed away aged 84 of heart failure on February the 21st. Nearly 50 years ago, he found the iconic shape for Terry Nation's villains, the Daleks - which made their first appearence in the very second episode of the long-spanning series, and are still the most memorable villains in Doctor Who. So long, Raymond. Thanks for your amazing work. View my complete profile.

Click Here for the latest news on 'Pacific Rim'! Monster Legacy moving out. Back when I first conceived this blog, I decided to host it on Blogspot due to lack of better knowledge on the matter. It all worked smoothly at first; but as the blog got more complex, glitches and bugs began to arise - coming to a point where even writing and editing posts posed a considerable number of issues. When all the articles and galleries are transferred, I will leave here a final post featuring a link to the new address.

Phantom Harbor: Why I've Been Silent for the Past Week
http://phantomharbor.blogspot.com/2012/11/why-ive-been-silent-for-past-week.html
Sunday, November 11, 2012. Why I've Been Silent for the Past Week. So, for the past week things fell silent at Phantom Harbor, mainly because I spent that time at the University of Virginia. I had been invited by the Stan Winston School of Character Arts to participate in a three day workshop called "The Art of the Moving Creature." I accompanied Matt Winston, SWSCA creative director/photographer John Ales, and my good friend, colleague, and incredible fabricator, Ted Haines. The traveling to and from Vi...

Click Here for the latest news on 'Pacific Rim'! Request: Monster Pictures I. A week or so ago I received a mail, which requested me to post pictures of the monsters from certain films. I unfortunately could not find pictures from all the requested films (not yet), but in the meantime here are some images that will certainly come in handy:. This is the small scale maquette, which estabilished the look for the Monster - which would have only minor modifications. It was built by Michael McCracken's team.

Phantom Harbor: Happy Thanksgiving!
http://phantomharbor.blogspot.com/2012/11/happy-thanksgiving.html
Thursday, November 22, 2012. So, here we are on another Thanksgiving; it's been a nutty year so far, and with just a few weeks left of 2012 (or a scant month away from the end of the world if you are a Mayan), I guess it is as good a time as any to take a moment and be thankful. This year has been fairly balanced between good and not-so-good experiences. As my former employer, Stan Winston would, I think I'll spend less time ruminating over the bad ones and instead focus on the good. Will that be bad?

Phantom Harbor: Halloween 2012 - Some Thoughts
http://phantomharbor.blogspot.com/2012/11/halloween-2012-some-thoughts.html
Thursday, November 1, 2012. Halloween 2012 - Some Thoughts. So, here we are in the wake of another Halloween and I, for one, thought it was very rewarding. For those kids who did come by, they had a brief encounter with the weird! The combination of my home-made mask and home made tentacles really shocked the heck out of most of the folks and kids who came by. I have two encounters I must share. I replied, "Oh, really? Another three girls approached me and said, "You look funny." "Is THIS funny? I asked ...

Until next time, I'll see you at the Harbor! Friday, January 28, 2011. Just wanted to post the latest test shot. This is a matte painting of a log bridge that leads to the mysterious Geckoniki Temple. Wednesday, January 5, 2011. A Little Something to Tide You Over.
