Tomato and Feta Baked Shrimp Pasta on Closet Cooking
http://www.closetcooking.com/2009/08/baked-shrimp-and-feta-pasta.html
Tomato and Feta Baked Shrimp Pasta. With the Taste of the Danforth. Greek food event kicking off tonight here in Toronto I was in the mood for some more Greek food. I really like Garides Saganaki. The shrimp, feta and tomato sauce combo worked just as well in a pasta dish as it did by itself. The pasta absorbed a lot of the extra juices from the sauce along with all of its tasty flavour with no bread required. Tomato and Feta Baked Shrimp Pasta. 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes. 1/4 cup white wine. Cod Bak...

Cobblers, crisps, & crumbles. Pies & tarts. February 18, 2009. Pecan and Salted Caramel Cheesecake. Recently, I read somewhere that 2008 was a big year for salted caramel. I don’t think I’m in any position to agree or disagree with that, but I will say that I had a little love affair with it myself. (Hello, salted caramel hot chocolate! On its own, there is nothing exceptional about the cheesecake. The difference is the caramel. The salt portion is sprinkled on top, so you can use as little or as...To ma...

The Biscuit Pusher: Walnut Torte with Dark Rum Syrup
http://biscuitpusher.blogspot.com/2008/04/walnut-torte-with-dark-rum-syrup.html
Monday, April 21, 2008. Walnut Torte with Dark Rum Syrup. This is one of the recipes in the Sticky, Chewy, Messy, Gooey book that I knew I had to make - in fact, this was probably the primary reason why I bought the book in the first place. So why, oh why, has it taken me 3 weeks to make this cake? No idea really. I know I wanted to make it last week but I was out of walnuts, but I finally remedied that problem on Saturday and now the time has come. 1/2 cup unbleached all purpose flour. 1 1/2 cups sugar.

Seasonal recipes, photos and stories from an Ithaca food-lover. Black Bean Tamale Pie. March 19, 2008. There was a period of time after I graduated from college when I was really enamored of one-dish meals. Maybe it was because it meant less dishes for me to do (now I’m lucky to have a husband who doesn’t mind dish-duty when I cook dinner, even when the kitchen is a complete disaster area! Not if you’re hopelessly devoted to cornbread as we are! You can improvise on the black bean mixture any way you lik...

Hot Cheesy Corn Dip on Closet Cooking
http://www.closetcooking.com/2008/08/hot-corn-dip.html
Hot Cheesy Corn Dip. Corn is in season and I certainly have been enjoying it! In addition to trying out new recipes with corn I have also been making some old favourites and one that I cannot stop making over and over again is this hot cheesy corn dip adapted from Emeril Lagass's recipe! The only real problem that I have with this dip is that it disappears far too quickly! Although I prefer to use fresh corn, this dip works with frozen or even canned corn. Just look at all of that stringy melted cheese!

A Southern Grace: birthdays and broiled bliss
http://asoutherngrace.blogspot.com/2009/04/birthdays-and-broiled-bliss.html
April 17, 2009. Birthdays and broiled bliss. I don't know about you, but I like baking my own birthday cake. I can make exactly what I want exactly how I want it. This birthday was no exception. It seems like I crave a different cake every year. Last year, it was all about carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. This year, I went in a completely different direction- oatmeal cake with broiled coconut topping. Can we please talk about the pool of bubbly caramel goodness at the bottom there? 2 eggs, beaten.

One cannot think well, love well, sleep well, if one has not dined well." Virginia Woolf. Where I Eat and Shop. St Louis Food Blogs. April 15, 2010. Our Porkapalooza Wedding Reception. I had forgotten about that dream until after we'd planned our pig roast. Jerad then reminded me of the dream, which I told him about right after I'd had it. I'm sure he thought I was crazy at the time. Nevertheless, I find it a bit strange that I ended up planning that very reception. It must be fate. Here is our epic (dis...
