For His Glory: June 2013
http://montgomeryjourney.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html
Wednesday, June 19, 2013. My song and prayer. Come set Your rule and reign. In our hearts again. Increase in us we pray. Unveil why we're made. Come set our hearts ablaze with hope. Like wildfire in our very souls. Holy Spirit come invade us now. We are Your Church. We need Your power. We seek Your kingdom first. We hunger and we thirst. Refuse to waste our lives. For You're our joy and prize. To see the captive hearts released. The hurt; the sick; the poor at peace. We are Your church. We are Your church.
For His Glory: August 2014
http://montgomeryjourney.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Saturday, August 30, 2014. Photo cred: my beautiful friend, Stephany! I don't know if I'll ever become a regular blogger. But I'm hoping over the next weeks and months to share some bits of the journey with you guys. Tonight as I drove around Waco and pondered, I teared up again thinking about who I am. Thinking about my weaknesses. Thinking about how He gets ALL the glory for the story of my life. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Simple template. Powered by Blogger.
For His Glory: Motherhood
http://montgomeryjourney.blogspot.com/2015/05/motherhood.html
Sunday, May 3, 2015. Motherhood in this season feels like a train that jumped off the tracks (my tracks, I should say). But I believe this journey is God-ordained to bring about all of God's best for each of us. Day to day, though? It sometimes feels hard. My kids went to preschool and then "real" school. It's a reworking of my dreams of motherhood and bringing them into alignment with God's plan for us. I would so value your prayers as I walk this journey of adjustment. We LOVE comments around here!

Tuesday, August 27, 2013. We have a 9 year old! Oh my goodness.my big boy turned 9. Our last year with all our kids in single digits. How does time pass so quickly? We found a place here that does glow-in-the-dark space putt putt. Happy birthday to our wonderful, fun, world-changer of a son. We went to our first ever movie together as a family! I took J and C to a fun place at the mall called Little Explorers. They loved it and ask often to go back again! Friends, you should come visit.seriously! And whe...

Put Me In The Zoo!: October 2011
http://surviving4.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
Thursday, October 27, 2011. I have a terrible case of stage fright that may require therapy. Have a problem being in front of people. Put me on a stage? You'll need one of those Bugs Bunny hooks to drag me off. Hand me a microphone? You're going to need to put some serious Ultimate Fighter moves on me if you plan to shut me up. Clearly, I'm not afraid of actually being. It's my son who has me breaking into a cold sweat and popping the Pepto pills. I was half right. For an entire Christmas break. Sitting ...
Put Me In The Zoo!: April 2012
http://surviving4.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Friday, April 6, 2012. Grieving Good Friday's Child. Then in February of 2003, I had a glimmer of hope - a brief, positive pregnancy that ended on the day I discovered it. Valentine's Day. Tyler and I were out of town with friends, and trying to keep our baby-making ordeal under wraps. I swallowed a handful of Motrin and grieved quietly in the condo bathroom. Um, I don't know! What do you mean you don't know! What do you think this means? I asked the pharmacist. I bought a handful of pregnancy tests, all...
Put Me In The Zoo!: March 2011
http://surviving4.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
Saturday, March 19, 2011. Can I make a confession? If you've been a parent for more than 45 minutes, you know that this is a bad, BAD parenting technique. Allow me to share with you a bit yesterday's conversation with Ella and Evie:. Where do babies come from? Don't hit the brakes.). Um, what did you ask, Ella? Where Do. Babies. Come. From? Oh Well, you know the answer to that, right? When a mommy and a daddy love each other very much, and God decides they are ready, He puts a baby in the mommy's tummy.
Put Me In The Zoo!: Good Intentions Won't Pay the (Therapy) Bills
http://surviving4.blogspot.com/2012/05/good-intentions-wont-pay-therapy-bills.html
Monday, May 7, 2012. Good Intentions Won't Pay the (Therapy) Bills. My sister (the brilliant photographer I feature on this blog and the only person on earth who can capture a decent shot of my obnoxious children). Is pregnant with her first child. So far, she hasn't come seeking any motherly advice from her big sister, probably because she doesn't want to hear what I have to say:. You can't screw your kid up if she's in utero for the next 18 years. Which she hasn't taken off since. I got pretty relaxed ...
Put Me In The Zoo!: Worry, Thy Name is Woman
http://surviving4.blogspot.com/2012/01/worry-thy-name-is-woman.html
Tuesday, January 31, 2012. Worry, Thy Name is Woman. My apologies to the Bard for a clumsy attempt at wit, but don't you feel like it's true? I know men worry, but it seems they do it on a more broad spectrum scale: job, money, who will win the Super Bowl this Sunday. But women - and it seems especially mommies - have the capacity to worry about everything. In infinite detail. Given 10 seconds alone to think, the worry center of a woman's brain kicks into high gear. Did I lay the baby on her back? And th...
Put Me In The Zoo!: June 2012
http://surviving4.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html
Tuesday, June 12, 2012. Hope PETA isn't Reading This. Mother Nature shudders at the sound of their voice. I was surprised at how eager my sweet Emily was to sign off on these sea creatures' demise, though. If I am to have one, this is for sure the child who will be a vegetarian. She cries when the chicken trucks drive by our house on their way to the Tyson plant, and asks me over and over, "Those are the. That's okay, Mommy. I don't mind.". Can we keep him, Mommy? Carefully placed in his new home. And th...
Put Me In The Zoo!: Hair (Apparent)
http://surviving4.blogspot.com/2012/01/hair-apparent.html
Monday, January 23, 2012. Kids are like apples. They don't fall far from the tree. Unless the tree is planted at the top of a hill, in which case the apples will roll. One of them came to mind last week when I saw my brunette neighbor gathering her mail. My brunette neighbor whom I've only ever known as a blond. Thanks. This is round three, though. I don't know what I was thinking.". I knew what she was thinking. She was thinking,. I'm bored and broke, but this box of Clairol could be fun! I finally conv...

Put Me In The Zoo!: November 2011
http://surviving4.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Sunday, November 13, 2011. Oh Sure, I Can Laugh NOW. So I took a vote - very unofficial, and involving pretty much just my mom and two sisters - and we decided that the following post is one of our favorites. Mainly because enough time has passed that we can all laugh about it now. At the time, not so much. Look at that dull skin! Or, "Look at her rough and uneven nails! Or "She looks like a candidate for the latest in-home water filtration system! Um, I think she just had an accident.". Just then, Emily...
Put Me In The Zoo!: August 2011
http://surviving4.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Tuesday, August 2, 2011. Mommy, you made me hurt my nose! This is what Ty yelled out as I was making a left-hand turn into traffic this afternoon. Was your finger in your nose? Then hurting your nose is your fault, not mine.". But I have to ask, What is the deal with three-year olds and noses? Nostrils are to pre-schoolers what electric sockets are to toddlers:. Hey, there's a hole here! I wonder what can I fill it with. Sure enough, when we found her, Emily had a teeny, tiny yellow tea cup in her nose.

For His Glory
Sunday, May 3, 2015. Never in my wildest life dreams would I have guessed I would hang out on a beach in Sri Lanka. Part of our visa situation is that we have to leave the country every 6 months. For this visa run, we took a one hour flight to Colombo, and had family time on the beach. My kids have a new-found love for ginger beer. Our breakfast view every day. We see this view in our country all the time, but it's still beautiful! We spent A LOT of hours in this pool. Cool kids riding the waves. Motherh...
