Moose Hill Notebook: The Bastards of Madison County
http://moosehillnotebook.blogspot.com/2010/12/bastards-of-madison-couty.html
Short notes and observations that may or may not find their way into my original blog: Moose Hill Jounal. Thursday, December 2, 2010. The Bastards of Madison County. I've been reading the Tiny House Blog. A lot lately. I am interested in the idea of building small, efficient homes as an alternative to the monsters most people seem to lust after these days. Dear Mr. Edwards:. I encourage you to heed the journalist's maxim: "Follow the money! Who prompted Madison County to go after this poor fellow? Smack ...
Moose Hill Notebook: September 2009
http://moosehillnotebook.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html
Short notes and observations that may or may not find their way into my original blog: Moose Hill Jounal. Saturday, September 12, 2009. By Dan Buettner reports on a quest to find small pockets of extreme human longevity around the world. Dan and his team report on four places - Sardinia, Okinowa, Loma Linda and Costa Rica - where an exceptionally high proportion of the people live into their 90's and 100's. Family connections also seem essential to long-term survival. Many of these people live in mul...
Moose Hill Notebook: November 2009
http://moosehillnotebook.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
Short notes and observations that may or may not find their way into my original blog: Moose Hill Jounal. Tuesday, November 10, 2009. 9 Million for a Parking Lot? We need to devote our efforts to building real communities where people can live, walk, bike and take public transportation to jobs that matter. We need to invest our shared resources in manufacturing, education, renewable energy, local food production and affordable housing. Let's build in a better world. Letters to the Editor.
Moose Hill Notebook: January 2010
http://moosehillnotebook.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
Short notes and observations that may or may not find their way into my original blog: Moose Hill Jounal. Friday, January 29, 2010. I bought a bottle of ketchup last week at my local Big Y supermarket. Ketchup is one of those things that just always seems to be in the house. I don't think about it much, and since I don't use much of it, I don't buy it very often. I like a little with eggs or on a salmon patty or veggie burger. Hey, good enuf for me! It clearly says ALL NATURAL! I haven't heard back.
Moose Hill Notebook: Doomsday Procrastination
http://moosehillnotebook.blogspot.com/2011/05/doomsday-procrastination.html
Short notes and observations that may or may not find their way into my original blog: Moose Hill Jounal. Sunday, May 8, 2011. This letter was published in the April 22, 2011. This plan is based on 20th century thinking with no one pausing to consider where the 21st century may be headed. It was $4 per gallon gas and a deep recession that brought this project to a screeching halt a few years ago and prompted a cheapening and down-scaling of the project. Guess what? Moose Hill Journal: Missing the Target
http://moosehilljournal.blogspot.com/2008/09/missing-target.html
Thoughts and observations from, on, about, around or inspired by Moose Hill in Sharon, Massachusetts. Thursday, September 11, 2008. Saturday, August 23, 2008. With a string of cool, dry, fall-like days recently, I overcame my lingering fear of deer ticks and gave in to my desire to get back to Moose Hill. I slept in a little in the wonderful sleeping weather so I didn’t leave home until nearly. I made my usual PBJ and brewed a pot of. Coffee, a fresh souvenir from our recent trip to. Did the heavy machin...
Moose Hill Journal: October 2006
http://moosehilljournal.blogspot.com/2006_10_01_archive.html
Thoughts and observations from, on, about, around or inspired by Moose Hill in Sharon, Massachusetts. Tuesday, October 24, 2006. I recently read The Path: A One-Mile Walk through the Universe. By Chet Raymo. I remember reading Raymo’s weekly column in the Boston Globe until, sadly, they were discontinued a few years ago. I stumbled on this book in a bookstore several weeks ago, and remembered I had hoped to read it. Raymo is professor emeritus of physics and astronomy at. For me, The Path. Closer to home...
Third Floor: Miles Up The Road
http://bullthorn.blogspot.com/2009/07/miles-up-road.html
Monday, July 20, 2009. Miles Up The Road. 160; . Three days before Apollo 11 landed on the moon, me and three friends were riding an east bound freight train . Along the northern shore of Lake Superior. It was the summer before our senior year in high school and we were on the great adventure of our lives: a hitch-hiking journey across Canada. We were intent on watching the moon landing. 160; . Our berth was a box car, sticky with a residue of creosote. . Sleep was impossible and the days blurred.
Moose Hill Journal: June 2006
http://moosehilljournal.blogspot.com/2006_06_01_archive.html
Thoughts and observations from, on, about, around or inspired by Moose Hill in Sharon, Massachusetts. Tuesday, June 27, 2006. Forgive Us Our Trespasses. I went trespassing last night. Just before dark, I snuck out to walk the half mile to the scene of an atrocity. It was a cloudy evening and the moon was only a sliver. If needed, I wanted darkness to be on my side as I attempted this dangerous mission. I was going where I was not - and would never want to be - welcome. Our town has set aside some wonderf...

Thoughts and observations from, on, about, around or inspired by Moose Hill in Sharon, Massachusetts. Saturday, April 29, 2006. Then the purchase of multiple cheater glasses so there is always a pair close at hand. Then always making sure glasses are among those things in the pockets when departing home. (Spectacles, testicles, wallet and watch.) What's next? God, getting old sucks! I can add obituary-reading to signs that I'm getting old. Posted by MojoMan @ 7:52 AM. Friday, April 28, 2006. Sunday, February 22, 2009. Sunday, February 8, 2009. The Age Of Obama. My impulse to write often seems to arise in connection with the cold. . Looking back, I've realized that a disproportionate number of these blog entries are ruminations on ice and snow. . This is puzzling to me, not that frigid winter and its corollaries aren’t a worthwhile subject, but that sometimes I feel chained to their inspirational tug. . It was an odyssey rich in subplots and adventures. So w. One of my fellow travelers, ...
Moose Hill Journal: May 2006
http://moosehilljournal.blogspot.com/2006_05_01_archive.html
Thoughts and observations from, on, about, around or inspired by Moose Hill in Sharon, Massachusetts. Monday, May 29, 2006. This post contains obscene amounts of whining and self-indulgent navel-gazing. This weekend, I realize this month marks 30 years since I graduated and 20 years since the dream died. To paraphrase a quote I heard on the radio last week: You know you're getting older when your dreams are replaced by regrets. Another favorite quote of mine is from Outerbridge Reach. By Robert Stone: "B...
Moose Hill Journal: September 2006
http://moosehilljournal.blogspot.com/2006_09_01_archive.html
Thoughts and observations from, on, about, around or inspired by Moose Hill in Sharon, Massachusetts. Saturday, September 30, 2006. I was dozing fitfully this morning, waiting for the dawn. I was eager to get to Moose Hill. If I got an early start, I could have time for two hours in the woods this morning and, as I learned last week, even a short visit can provide enough time for some satisfying meditation. Finally, just around sunrise, our local. Wren told me it was time to get up. After the depression ...

Moose Hill Herb and Spice Company ~ Fayette, Maine
Christmas Trees and Wreaths. Arthur and Joseph Young inherited the farm from their father, Carleton, and have continued to find a way for the farm to pay its way through the sale of Christmas trees. Art and Joe have been planting Christmas trees since 1986. Each year approximately 1,000 trees are planted to replace those that are sold. In late November and throughout December we operate a choose and cut Christmas tree farm. Moose Hill Herb and Spice Company.
