Das Dörfchen Mühlebach mit der freundlichen Lage am Ausgangspunkt des Rappentales wird auch wegen seiner Einsamkeit und Ruhe als das "Tal der Ruhe" genannt. Das Dörfchen barg die Wiege von zwei Bischöfen, des Nikolaus Schiner und des Kardinal Matthäus Schiner. Das Geburtshaus des Kardinals, ein Heidenhaus, steht in einem stillen Winkel oben im Dorf.
