A Year in Pictures of Comedy: December 2008
http://ayearofcomedy.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
A Year in Pictures of Comedy. Wednesday, December 31, 2008. Pssst the show's over. With just a few hours left in this calendar year, I thought I'd take a moment to officially say, "yes, this blog year is done," for those of you who, like a theater audience confused by the fact that the house lights didn't come up or there's no music playing, are confused about whether there's more show left. Well, this show is done. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.

A Year in Pictures of Comedy: October 2008
http://ayearofcomedy.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html
A Year in Pictures of Comedy. Friday, October 31, 2008. I had a lot of fun at the iO Halloween Party. Surrounded by creative costumes (Photo Booth, High School Musical cheerleader, Sexy Ira Glass, etc), I really regretted not dressing up. Halloween snuck up on me this year. Granted, I haven't dressed up in years, but this year I was so busy I didn't even have time to consciously decide not to get a costume. Links to this post. Thursday, October 30, 2008. A Year in Pictures of Working
http://ayearofworking.blogspot.com/2007/08/citi-stage.html
A Year in Pictures of Working. Another year, another dollar. Sunday, August 05, 2007. The 1900s played at noon, so they didn't have a huge crowd. Ed (Marketing Assistant), the lead singer, opened by saying, "Is everyone here from Chicago? No one else has heard of us." It was a great show, though, and the crowd grew as their set went on. Later I caught up with Jeanine about what things were like behind the scenes. Posted by Arnie : 11:45 PM. That groupie story is CRAZY. 4:07 PM, August 08, 2007.

A Year in Pictures of Working. Another year, another dollar. Thursday, August 02, 2007. Job #12: Texas Instruments Clean Room (cont.). I was hoping to just slip out on my last day working in the clean room, but the shift manager decided to get ice cream and have a small going away party in the break room. I'm not sure why exactly. I hadn't worked there that long, and I mostly kept to myself. Maybe it was just a good excuse to be out of our bunny suits and face masks. Posted by Arnie : 10:16 PM. From outs...

A Year in Pictures of Working
http://ayearofworking.blogspot.com/2007/08/love-over-long-distance.html
A Year in Pictures of Working. Another year, another dollar. Monday, July 30, 2007. I was recently interviewed for a Chicago suburbs magazine called 'Beep.' The reporter did a web search for "long distance Chicago" and my blog(s) came up. It's an article about long distance relationships with a few blurbs thrown in from me. Sarah: You are now the official spokesperson for our relationship. I haven't heard back from her. The 'Beep' article refers to me as having been "devastated" at one point and "finding...

A Year in Pictures of Working. Another year, another dollar. Wednesday, August 01, 2007. The area around the office is pretty sketchy, but also poised for massive gentrification. Construction everywhere. A Whole Foods is being built across the street from the strip club. Giant billboards advertise the coming of something, I think condos, called SoNo. ("SoNot Vanilla! I sometimes wonder if this means Jellyvision will eventually be pushed out of the area with everyone else. Posted by Arnie : 7:41 PM.

A Year in Pictures of Working. Another year, another dollar. Tuesday, July 31, 2007. Finally got around to using my work insurance to get a physical. Doctor: According to the Weight/Height chart, you are. [traces finger along line]. "obese.". The doctor then went on to explain how our bodies are elaborate chemistry sets and how office lifestyle is very contrary to what our bodies were designed for. Then again, I've been living the office lifestyle for years, even when I wasn't working in an office. View ...

A Year in Pictures of Comedy: June 2008
http://ayearofcomedy.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html
A Year in Pictures of Comedy. Monday, June 30, 2008. The night got me thinking about all the famous and semi-famous people I've met or (more often) been in close proximity to over the years. And then the next person would leap up from the audience yelling, "They're a plant! And on and on until someone from the audience shot me but the bullet is stopped by. the three of hearts! And we all bow theatrically. The end. Through Comedy Corner I also got to meet and talk briefly to David Cross and Demitri Martin.

A Year in Pictures of Working: August 2006
http://ayearofworking.blogspot.com/2006_08_01_archive.html
A Year in Pictures of Working. Another year, another dollar. Thursday, August 31, 2006. I sat down today and wrote out a list of all the jobs I've had. Put together, it makes for a largely aimless and unimpressive job path. Less than a year ago I was hanging out in malls, dressed in a giant ear costume. I still get e-mails asking if I want to pick up more shifts as a giant ear. Posted by Arnie : 10:19 AM 5 comments. Links to this post. Wednesday, August 30, 2006. And friends, but I am very satisfied with the flow and content of the show. Opened the show reading from her blog,. She related humorous stories from her days as a teacher. My favorite had to do with a student writing the phrase "ass parade" on the chalkboard. An author who wishes remain anonymous. We were even ...
