Dude does it in binary: Bad Computer Day
https://clickedyclick.blogspot.com/2009/11/bad-computer-day.html
Dude does it in binary. All things computer in my life. Which is about 90% of it all. Thursday, 19 November 2009. I think I'm getting a bit old geek now, or I have too high expectations? Many days I just hope the computer I us would just work. Amazing, these days all three systems I use regularly have "Critical" or "Showstopper" level bugs that I cannot seem to be able to fix (yet). It is pretty much what is said at KB927385. And they have a few full page of solution, most of it is in the console. Gr...

Dude does it in binary: Keyboarding
https://clickedyclick.blogspot.com/2010/08/keyboarding.html
Dude does it in binary. All things computer in my life. Which is about 90% of it all. Wednesday, 25 August 2010. After some consideration, what do I want? Not an exhaustive list). Tactile feedback is great when typing blind (which is really the only way to be efficient). Some keyboards (especially laptop ones) have very much reduced feedback, some desktop keyboards (older ones) are pretty damn hard to press and make me fingers tired. Balance these out. Separation between keys, but not too big separation.

Dude does it in binary: Facebook Hacker Cup Round 1A, that wasn't
https://clickedyclick.blogspot.com/2011/01/facebook-haker-cup-round-1a-that-wasnt.html
Dude does it in binary. All things computer in my life. Which is about 90% of it all. Monday, 17 January 2011. Facebook Hacker Cup Round 1A, that wasn't. From earlier blog posts it is clear that I like programming contests. Since I spend so much (too much? Time on Facebook, I was also looking forward to Hacker Cup 2011. That sort of thing. Spoiler alert * *. Problem 1: After the dance battle. Can find the problem description on the practice page. No sign of that. Eg. two thing that stands out:. In a nuts...

Dude does it in binary: Why is secure browsing so... nowhere?
https://clickedyclick.blogspot.com/2008/07/why-is-secure-browsing-so-nowhere.html
Dude does it in binary. All things computer in my life. Which is about 90% of it all. Monday, 21 July 2008. Why is secure browsing so. nowhere? Whenever I read about the Black Hat conference. Which I'd love to see one day), I was always amused, how they tried to see, whether all the participants followed (or not followed, more likely) the best practices of online security. My favorite was the Wall of Sheep. So, since I've read about the Wall of Sheep, I wanted to make sure, I do follow a few easy steps t...

Dude does it in binary: Wow, did Gmail hear me by any chance?
https://clickedyclick.blogspot.com/2008/07/wow-did-gmail-hear-me-by-any-chance.html
Dude does it in binary. All things computer in my life. Which is about 90% of it all. Monday, 28 July 2008. Wow, did Gmail hear me by any chance? Just the other day. I was complaining about web security, and how Gmail is almost good. Secure login but might be insecure browsing afterwards. Today, checking my email, the Ad Bar (yeah, I actually read ads sometimes there) came up with this: Official Gmail Blog - Making security easier. Posted by Gergely Imreh. Wow, did Gmail hear me by any chance?

Dude does it in binary: Crossroads of new and old
https://clickedyclick.blogspot.com/2011/01/crossroads-of-new-and-old.html
Dude does it in binary. All things computer in my life. Which is about 90% of it all. Tuesday, 18 January 2011. Crossroads of new and old. Books: Dead Tree or Bits. As a little kid practically I grew up in a library and I've always been reading a lot. I bought a lot of books: not the most among the people I know, but give it some time and I'll have a pretty decent library at home. Provided I don't move continents and pass on that library to a second-hand bookshop, again. On a HTC Desire. But then I was r...

Dude does it in binary: Adventures with Windows security
https://clickedyclick.blogspot.com/2008/07/adventures-with-windows-security.html
Dude does it in binary. All things computer in my life. Which is about 90% of it all. Sunday, 27 July 2008. Adventures with Windows security. Windows security really drives me nuts. The whole thing. It's not that it should be easier, only it shouldn't be impossible, and this unnerving. I had to reinstall my Windows XP. Where I was, is a fresh new install, pulling down all he necessary software updates, new Firefox. And let's get started with digging the trenches against the invading forces. Is it alright...

Dude does it in binary: some thoughts on open source project deaths
https://clickedyclick.blogspot.com/2009/06/some-thoughts-on-open-source-project.html
Dude does it in binary. All things computer in my life. Which is about 90% of it all. Sunday, 7 June 2009. Some thoughts on open source project deaths. I've been reading Joel on Software. For quite a while now (few years back, as much as I can remember) and he had a post in 2000 that seems to be still the most popular read: Things You Should Never Do, Part I. They committed] the single worst strategic mistake that any software company can make: They decided to rewrite the code from scratch. A desktop Twi...

Dude does it in binary: December 2010
https://clickedyclick.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html
Dude does it in binary. All things computer in my life. Which is about 90% of it all. Friday, 31 December 2010. Not that I'm really good at it, au contraire. All I said is I enjoy them. The place which grew synonymous to programming puzzles for me is TopCoder. This time I finished the easiest problem, but run out of time on the second one (see links to the problems and explanation in the SRM 492 Match analysis. All this got me thinking, there has to be a qualitative. Difference between the good and great...

Dude does it in binary: facebook's walled garden is still walled with open API
https://clickedyclick.blogspot.com/2009/05/facebooks-walled-garden-is-still-walled.html
Dude does it in binary. All things computer in my life. Which is about 90% of it all. Saturday, 16 May 2009. Facebook's walled garden is still walled with open API. I'm not sure why, but recently got on Twitter. Again But I don't like to keep a website always open in my browser, much more convenient to have a desktop app do the useful work for me. Personal preference, I guess. Going minimalistic, I found a reasonably nice one for the job, called Mitter. FB), why not have the same thing for that? Well - n...
