A Martagon in my garden – in the autumn light
https://intheautumnlight.com/2011/07/05/a-martagon-in-my-garden
In the autumn light. A Martagon in my garden. Last year I came across a Martagon lily at a local garden centre and did a little dance of joy. I have wanted a Martagon for years. Once home, I planted it near the main walk in the back garden. This spring, I was secretly thrilled with the appearance of new green shoots. So, thank you Martagon, for the inspiration. Long may you bloom. Tagged: Lilium martagon Martagon lily. A spring in my step. An autumn’s work. 17 thoughts on “ A Martagon in my garden. I wen...

home, in a heartbeat: October 2014
http://homeinaheartbeat.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Friday, 17 October 2014. Coming home after a hard day's work creating worldwide chaos. My presence here at my blog will be scarce for a little while longer. Along with the amount of clay work I’m doing in preparation for Christmas markets I'll attend throughout Nov-Dec, some personal life stuff has arisen – some of it negative and very distracting. So, trying to focus on my tight market schedule has been, well… trying. So, this is how I’m feeling right now. If I had even the tiniest. When the mud settles.

journeying: Courage to be creative
http://rhhblackthorn.blogspot.com/2015/08/courage-to-be-creative.html
Adventures in real Life. Saturday, August 01, 2015. Courage to be creative. This week, I've been doing an art course through Norfolk Adult Education, it's called Skills and Methods and was basically an opportunity to play with as wide a variety of arty media as possible to squeeze into a five-day course. But there really wasn't much else about. The next day, I spoke to the course tutor. She was appalled that I felt so ground down and was incredibly understanding and supportive. She said I was definit...

A different kind of white I like – in the autumn light
https://intheautumnlight.com/2010/03/03/a-different-kind-of-white-i-like
In the autumn light. A different kind of white I like. Today while walking the dog, I thought about how much. I look at my wicker chairs that didn’t quite make it into the garage before the snow arrived and I try to imagine when next I will be sitting in them. I love an array of scents in the garden. They linger in my mind long after the flowers have finished blooming.Do you have a favourite flower scent that holds good memories for you? A spring in my step. The Garden Ms. S. Nothing moves in a straight line,. But in arcs, epicycles, spirals and gyres. Nothing living grows in cubes, cones, or rhomboids,. But we take a little here and we give a little there,. And the wind blows right through us,. And blows the apples off the tree, and hangs a red kite suddenly there,. It is many as raindrops. It is one as rain.

Tuesday, February 26, 2013. I never get Eastern Bluebirds at the feeders during the summer, but they do show up regularly at the feeders during the winter when the supplies of berries become low. And I guess this is a fairly rare moment to have two males feeding together without any aggression towards the other. The Cornell University's website, All About Birds. Pugnacious is another term that the website uses for the males' behavior. Guess I caught them during a quiet interval. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Monday, December 3, 2012. Woodpeckers in My Small Garden. The woodpeckers are back visiting the feeders in the small garden again this fall. From smallest to largest, they are:. A female downy woodpecker (she has no red crescent on the back of her head like the male does). I could only catch her from the back as she climbed the redbud towards the feeder. A female red-bellied woodpecker at the upside down suet feeder. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Greensboro, North Carolina, United States. Frayed at the edge.
