Don’t Ruin it For Me. August 8, 2006 at 1:55 pm ( Autieparenting. Commenting on NT comments. A few days ago I stumbled upon a video called The Face of Autism. I wasn’t sure what to expect, because I have read titles like this before, and I never ended up liking the message. It was a blurb, inserted by the editors, in reference to the article What Do Animals Think? An interview with Temple Grandin by Verlyn Klinkenborg. I remember actually. The subtitle or tagline that came right before the story proper:.

If it ain't broke...: We interrupt your regularly scheduled autism
http://unintelligiblerantings.blogspot.com/2006/08/we-interrupt-your-regularly-scheduled.html
If it ain't broke. Friday, August 04, 2006. We interrupt your regularly scheduled autism. I was all ready to post yesterday about our lovely (albeit brief) vacation with the kids. About how they both loved camping, and we had a great time. And then we went to OT. We (and they) are sooo lucky it was our car, and not us walking behind him when he did that. It's a CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL for crying out loud! There are people walking to and from their cars with their kids all the time! I need a vacation from mine.

If it ain't broke. Friday, August 11, 2006. 2 Posts in one week! Shocking, I know. I'm kind of freaking out and I need all your help here. I just found out that Reed is skipping first grade. They've placed him in the grade 2-3 gifted class this year. How can my 5 year old be a SECOND GRADER already? It shouldn't be possible. Anyway, that's beside the point. Prepare your child for the start of something familiar yet different? I have less than a month to prepare and I have no idea what I'm doing! Then to ...

If it ain't broke. Saturday, August 20, 2005. Sometimes denial pays off. Immediately after blogging about my beloved cat, I found him. Go figure. In a last-ditch effort to locate him, I went back to the area he spends the most time in and did one last check. I was sort of talking to myself when I asked "Whit, where the heck have you gone? I was answered by a pathetic. My first thought was that I was either hallucinating, or that I was hearing our other cat, Tess. So I called out again, "Whit? In other ne...

If it ain't broke...: First hand understanding
http://unintelligiblerantings.blogspot.com/2006/07/first-hand-understanding.html
If it ain't broke. Wednesday, July 19, 2006. Heath and I watched a movie the other night, Mozart and the Whale. I also have some trouble with social interaction. It wasn't until I was a teenager that I started to be able to relate and interact with people comfortably. I am still very self conscious, because I cannot guess how people perceive me. I am excruciatingly uncomfortable with eye contact. I read this post. A while back, and was nearly jumping out of my chair, yelling "Yes! Mom to Mr. Handsome.
