Monday, 27 April 2015. Focus on Crime Writing. The weekend started with a fancy dress, murder mystery dinner party. This had a 1945 theme, hence my wearing an army uniform. Louise Welsh talked about Writing the End of The World. This focused on her trilogy the first book of which is A Lovely Way to Burn. Denise Mina said that in crime writing the rea...

Bookaholic: November 2014
http://wendyhjones-bookaholic.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Sunday, 30 November 2014. Is there such a thing as writer's block? As this is the month of November I have been doing the annual NaNoWriMo challenge. As always there has been a mixed approach to this. Mostly the words flow and other times I feel like I have slammed into a brick wall. This got me thinking about writer's block and whether this really exists. So overall I have come to the conclusion that there is no such thing as writers block. I just need to free my mind and out the words will tumble.

Bookaholic: February 2015
http://wendyhjones-bookaholic.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Monday, 23 February 2015. Writing as a Discipline. As a writer I also do a lot of reading. This comes with the territory and includes non fiction, as well as fiction, books and articles I have recently read an excellent article called Writing Through that Hangnail. This made me think about my writing and the way in which I approach it? Do I have an overriding passion which means my writing takes priority over most everything? If writing were an olympic sport would I train harder? Jepson makes a good poin...
