December 13, 2013. Is six weeks old! The time since Livi’s birth has flown by. With each new day, Livi grows and changes. We are convinced that she is the brightest, most beautiful baby in the whole wide world! You should see her smile! As parents, we are learning to survive on very little sleep.We’ve also learned that we just can’t accomplish quite a much as we used to during the day! Although Livi is small, she has a lot of personality! 8221; With that said, she’s pretty mellow overall! And Can It Be?

October 27, 2013. The long awaited last month of pregnancy has come and we have made the move to Fairbanks to give birth. In the meantime we have been preparing for our little bundle of joy. Here is Annie after a afternoon of picking highbush cranberries for some jelly. Got invited to head out to the Cascade Siskiyou National Monument and Soda Mountain Wilderness Area where the BLM has been actively fixing pre-Wilderness erosion problems stemming from roads and trails. I hiked out a road which had been blocked to prevent new use. We inspected yarding trails in a timber salvage unit called Burnt Stew. The yarding trails were pretty rocky which makes subsoiling them difficult. Here's a 15,000 acre (and growing) fire that engulfed most of Stouts Creek up on the Roseburg District that is sending all of its smoke south into our neighborhood. Air quality is pegged at "hazardous" and the view from our house is gone. Everything smells like a campfire. Rather ominous looking.as the governor of California said.this is the new norm.
