Focus on Quilting, but there's a lot of photography about my habitat. Laquo; A DOZEN SHADES OF GREY. The Yellow Quilt was finished and presented to Grand Daughter Nadine for her high school graduation. The butterflies on the focal fabric, circa 1950, were must too big to use except as pieces but I appliquéd one to the back and used it as a label. Explore posts in the same categories:. Tuesday, 22 July 2008. Making Pictures with Fabric' workshop with Janet Bolton. Luckily Janet is a very experienced and enthusiastic teacher and I learnt a lot in one day. She was trained as a fine artist so pays a huge amount of attention to colour and composition whereas I think my talents are more concerned with decoration. I started a piece inspired by a photo of the pavement. It’s still a work in progress but this is how far I got during the workshop:. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Slagt en hellig ko.

Pretty in pinks - an organic journal. Come peek inside my new journal. I was inspired to make this bag. Sari ribbon bow closure. Pom Poms to dress up the top. I attached two purple stones to the wax ribbon ends. To use as place holders. They came from a discarded necklace. The ties are inky muslin to clean up other projects. The buckles are recycled from a goodwill outfit. The covers are an assortment of leftover inky papers. Inspired by Traci Bautista. I need to practice getting the signatures more snug.

Laquo; shot cotton lagniappe. Day in the city. Today I saw two wonderful and completely different exhibitions in NYC. First, at one of my favorite places, the American Folk Art Museum. The first half of an exhibit that celebrates their Year of the Quilt. Its title, bland but informative, is: Quilts: Masterworks from the American Folk Art Museum. It’s not a huge show, but has outstanding examples of a very broad range. Part II goes up in May 2011. Hummingbirds Quilt, artist unidentified. Something that st...
