Pictures from the Northern treasure chest! For two weeks in April we all got together in Inuvik, Northwest Territories for a family gathering. A great chance to visit Greg at home, meet many of his friends, and see the country he likes so much. It was a wonderful trip and included exciting things; like driving on the winter ice-roads. Salmon recipe - 15th century. Recipes from the feasts. We try to find original recipes like the one above and adapt them as best we can to todays foods. Her are a couple of recipes that have been 'translated' for our use. Peel and core Anjou pears and cut into quarters. Cook in a small amount of water until soft. Add sugar to taste. Add spices - cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and cloves.

OK, some of you out there might think that we are a little strange. Perhaps, but we like the way we are. Books, travelling, museums, like so many other things, are all important but so is imagination and creativity. As you will see throughout this site we enjoy these latter two items immensely. Det är alltid trevligt med ursäkter att baka och denna supergoda kaka slängde jag ihop till mina kollegor på EBC i Uppsala när det var dags för mig att packa ihop mina saker efter två års postdoc där. Improviserade som vanligt och tog lite av vad jag hade i skåpen och resultatet blev fantastiskt! En långpanna (20-30 portioner). 12-14 morötter (ca 1,5 l rivna). 9 dl socker (jag använde hälften strösocker, hälften farinsocker).

Det är inget muntert gäng som sitter och väntar på vårt flyg. Vi har haft så härliga veckor med mycket kul. Är så tacksam att vi alla hållt oss friska hela tiden. Ett par sista bilder.
