I ran up downtown past the hospital and then along Boulevard in Mountain Lakes to the Boonton town line. This is maybe an 8 mile round trip, but it is a beautiful ride, and one of my favorites. The mansions along Boulevard are looking especially nice during the Holiday season. I had my day in court today.

I got up, brushed myself off, and decided to walk the rest of this short run on the trail. Eventually, I got back on the bike and we headed out of the Tourne over to the BBQ with my pride being more hurt than my knee. In juggling a job, one car, and family obligations. Today I set out on a mission. To break my record, which, though I don’t remember it, I pretended is somewhere in the 20’s for mileage distance. I can’t remember any rides longer than 25 miles since I started riding again last year. This is a nice park with soccer fields, baseball diamonds, a dog park, and…a tank! I once read that ...

Because I planted my hand in an attempt to break the fall, I suffered a minor flesh wound. I’m sure I have cuts on my back that I haven’t checked out yet, but I’m ok. Eventually I shook myself off, again made sure no one was looking, and continued on to work. On Conquering a Hill. Posted in bike commute. Finall...

By metaljaybird on July 31, 2008. That was the last straw. First he breaks the law by blowing a stop sign, then he cuts me off, and then he almost causes an accident by pulling wide into the other lane (I was directly behind him), using NO signal to turn right into a parking spot. I let him have it:. Granted, I as the b...

There’s this little gravel trail that I take as a shortcut that runs along the high-tension power lines. I don’t know why, but the hill puts a huge smile on my face no matter what mood I’m in. It makes me thankful for my front suspension, that’s for sure. Just like a roller coaster! By metaljaybird on September 21, 2009. Build a website ...

By metaljaybird on August 27, 2008. While riding in this morning, the first half was pleasant and easy. About 2/3rds of the way towards work, I started feeling sluggish. Looking at my speed, I wondered why I wasn’t moving my average MPHs up and down the same hills, and around the same corners. I love learning things the hard way.
