Staying in the Tamar Valley. The River Tamar forms the border between Devon and Cornwall for much of its length. There are few bridges across the river, and Horsebridge is one of the oldest, being built in 1437. The Tamar Valley winds between the granite uplands of Dartmoor and Bodmin moor and in places becomes narrow, with the river fast flowing. From the dock, the father grabbed his little boy by the arms just as the alligator snatched his legs. That began an incredible tug-of- war between the two. The alligator was much stronger than the father, but the father was much too passionate to let go.
