Where to eat and sleep. Mossel Bay is a harbour town in the Western Cape Province of South Africa, with a population of 92 000 people. It is situated on the world-renowned Garden Route, approximately halfway between the cities of Cape Town to the west and Port Elizabeth to the east. Mossel Bay has been adjudged the Western Cape’s Greenest Municipality for the second consecutive year in 2014 and runner-up in 2015. It also has four Blue Flag beaches, two of which consistently receive five-star ratings.
