Sunday, 9 October 2011. Our holiday seems like another lifetime now Autumn has arrived in London. It was about three weeks ago and it's a very distant memory. Today it got dark at 7 and I lit candles in the kitchen. We stayed in. In south west France. Pretty fabulous. Perfect for families as everything you could possibly want was there, and large grounds to roam around and explore. Including a bunch of chickens. Clara with her little buddy A. Sunday, 15 January 2012. First day at school. Saturday, 7 January 2012. Christmas 2011 was spent in Sweden. Low key, lots of food and plenty of 'fika' moments, trips to the barn to search for eggs and feed the cattle, playing with cousins. Although not so much snow the few days we had it was well spent building snow men and lantern. Clara's birthday was celebrated with all her cousins. This is a Princess cake, a classic Swedish cake with custard and marzipan on top. The fantastic Christmas lunch.

Monday, 23 March 2009. Last sunday we caught the train down to Kent for some walking in the sunshine. Alvar had a quick nap in the backpack carrier and then had a good run around through fields and forests picking up all sorts of interesting bits and bobs, a knobbly stick, dried leaves, rabbit droppings, unknown mushrooms etc etc. Whoosh up in the air. And back down again. Monday, 2 March 2009. Makes him look more like the cheeky little boy he his. Thanks Gekko. For helping me getting the pattern right!

Monday, 26 September 2011. A day by the sea. A sunny Sunday recently, we hopped in the car and drove down to Whitstable. A lovely small sea side town about an hour's drive from our house. It's not too big, has a stony long beach and plenty of lovely little shops. It's the perfect day out. Flying his new kite which he got as a birthday gift. A lot more difficult than it looks. Now, if we only could work out how to make a living outside of London. The perennial question. People would think you were mad.
